Q1: What is Recruiting?

Answer: The process of developing a pool of qualified applicants who are interested in
working for the organization and from which the organization might reasonably select the
best individual or individuals to hire for employment.

Q2: What are the advantages of electronic recruiting?

Answer: Cost effective; Time saver; and Reaches a large number of applicants.

Q3: What is internship?

Answer: A form of temporary employment.

Q4: What is Selection Process?

Answer: It is concerned with identifying the best candidate or candidates for jobs from
among the pool of qualified applicants developed during the recruiting process.

Q5: What are the basic selection criteria?

Answer: Education; Experience; Skills and abilities

Q6: What is Personal Interviews?

Answer: A selection technique that uses a face-to-face conversation between the job
applicant and a representative of the organization as part of the selection process.

Q7: What is False Positives in Selection Process?

Answer: Applicants who are predicted to be successful and are hired but ultimately fail.

Q8: What is False Negatives in Selection Process?

Answer: Applicants who are predicted to fail and are not hired, but had they been hired,
they would have been successful.

Q9: What is Reliability?

Answer: The consistency of a particular selection device; not the same as accuracy.

Q10: What is Validity?

Whether or not an assessment tool measures what it is supposed to. It must be determined
empirically to defend against charges of hiring discrimination.
