KSDiag Help

This diagnostic tool is used to service and configure control units connected via serial interface. It allows loading and displaying measurement data, error handling, monitoring operating hours, controlling outputs in service mode, viewing software and hardware information, and configuring the serial interface and data storage settings. The main menu provides different functions depending on the selected bus or rail system.

KSDiag Scope

This application is a diagnostic tool used for service and configuration of the control
units. The target system will be connected to the PC via the serial interface.

Main Menu
Depending on the program selected bus or rail are different functions available.

Clicking the buttons will call the different tools of the application.

1) Choose Project
This menu provides :
Selection of the project with which you want to work. *.INI File

In the *.INI file are configuration interfaces, names of exits and entrances and image
information.

The *: INI file can be translated on request in other languages.

2) Load data
This menu provides :
Loading data measurements from File.
(temperature, angle of valves, digital outputs and digital inputs)

For example, the measured values were stored in a test drive can be loaded and
displayed.

3) Stop
This menu provides :
Exit the program

4) Table data
This menu provides :
This button activates the display of the measured values received from the control
unit formatted as a table.

After pressing the button " Read data from Controller continuously " the data is
retrieved at each change of the green LED on the controller.

Top right can be switched between the master or slave controller.

Flip through the menu on the display elements of the user can select the wanted
values.

5) Curves
This menu provides :
This button activates the display of the measured values received from the control
unit formatted as a Curves.

Flip through the menu on the display elements of the user can select the wanted
values.

If the switch "AUO Refresh" is active, the values are updated constantly.

The coordinate system can be changed by the values of the X and Y axes are scaled.

6) Visual data ( Option )
This menu provides :
This button activates the display of the measured values received from the control
unit formatted as a Visual.

7) Save measurement
This menu provides :
By pressing the button, the data are stored on the PC.

It can be a file name will be selected and added comments such as control / vehicle
or customer.

While the LED is green, the data are recorded.

8) Error handling
This menu provides :
Polling error messages from the climate control.
Errors can be retrieved or deleted.

This menu provides :
Option : Depending on the control will still transmit the environment data.
Be the time of the error entry saved.
This ensures accurate fault isolation is possible.

9) Counter
This menu provides :
By the hour meter, the duration of the selected Aggregates can be monitored.

The operating hours counter can trade after the example are reset to 0 by a fan.

There are a maximum of 7 meters per controller available.


Maximum of 1 master and 3 slaves can be managed.

10) Service
This menu provides :
By pressing the button " Service ON " control is switched into service mode.
Service mode is indicated by the key " Service OFF “ button switched off again.

In service mode outputs can be controlled, and thus verify


the climate system.

MAX-cooling or MAX-heating activated, the system regardless of the temperature.

11) INFO
This menu provides :
Showing the current version of the software, parameters, and hardware.
Option: queries and provide the time in the climate control.

12) Reset Data


This menu provides :
Delete the values in the display.

13) Configuration
This menu provides :
Selection of the serial interface, which the control unit has been connected to, from a
drop down list.
Selection of a scan rate for data requests from this application to the control module
by a slider.

Depending on the control of the baud rate is set automatically.

In “ Default Data Storage Directory ” define the directory for the saved data.

14) External Programs
This menu provides :
The menu item is the start of additional programs of Ruthardt electronic GmbH.

This management ensures that the correct Serial to Serial port will be transferred to
other programs.

Note: It is important to not access the 2 programs to the same Serial port.

15) Debug
This menu provides :
Information about developing the Software.
