Parts of speech

❶ On the line to the left of the sentence, write the word that is the part of speech indicated in
parenthesis.

a. Around (preposition) He walked around the corner.

b. Amazing (adjective) He has spent many years working with these amazing creatures.

c. But (conjunction) But instead of eating the bird …. .

d. Crocodile (noun) To get the crocodile to do this … .

e. Into (verb) He’s really into films too.

f. Interested (adjective) If you are interested in it, you can see it on YouTube!

g. His (pronoun) Yes, and his name is Mark.

h. Oh (interjection) Oh, I don’t know about that.

i. I, prize (noun) I even won a prize once in a science competition.

j. Do, like (verb) What subjects do you like at school?

k. Often (adverb) We often continue working into the night.

l. Who (preposition) Most of the customers who shop here are young.

m. Cheap (adjective) When my friends and I go shopping, we look for cheap clothes.

n. And (conjunction) Over 100 000 children make clothes for the fashion industry and

many of them live and work in terrible conditions.
