Applications
1.0 Aim
The course equips students with the basic computer concepts and applications skills that
are generic to all computer users. This will lay the foundations for the different
programmes of study one would want to undertake.
2.0 Objectives
By the end of the course, students should be able to:
a) Describe the different types of computers, printers and software.
b) Outline the role of information systems and information technology in organisations.
c) Use windows based operating systems: a word processor, a spreadsheet, and a
presentation package.
d) Use the Internet effectively.

3.11 Assessment
Assessment is through continuous assessment and final examinations. The
final examination will be theory, which comprise of five compulsory
questions.
