This lab report summarizes an experiment conducted to study the role of the builder wheel at an RY-5 ring frame. The objectives were to observe the builder mechanism, sketch its driving components, and determine chase length and coils per inch in different states. Key parts of the builder motion like the shaper wheel, lifting lever, and heart cam were observed. Diagrams of the winding mechanism and results were included. The conclusion is that the builder mechanism's function is to wind yarn throughout the bobbin length.

1. Title :
To Study the role of Builder wheel at RY-5 ring frame.

1. Abstract :

In this experiment, we were observed the builder mechanism was carried out at
RL-5 ring machine. We have to note the driving mechanism of building wheel and sketch
out diagram after making diagram we were determine the chase length when sung active
and inactive and also determine coil per inch in upward and downward layer when sung is
active and non active. Different parts and functions of builder motion was also observed.

3. Objectives:

 To study the role of builder wheel.

 To make the sketch of builder wheel driving mechanism.
 To become familier with the function of snug/ deprerssin piece.
 To determine the chase length when snug is active.
 To determine the chase length when snug is non-active.
 To determine the coil per inch in upward layer and downward layer when snug is non
active. 
 To determine the lift distance of ring rail when snug remain active

Objective of Building Motion:

 To provide reversing motion of the bobbin rail.

 To make the tapering shape of the bobbin.

4. Introduction :

Builder wheel plays very important role in ring frame. It perfrom three important
task during a winding operation.
 Shift the cone belt corresponding to an increase the bobbin diameter.
 Reverse the direction of moment of the bobbin rail at the upper and lower
ends of the lift stroke
 Shortens the lift after each layer from tapered ends on the bobbin

3
Objective of Ring Frame:

 To draft the roving fed to the ring frame to convert roving into very fine strand
called yarn.
 To impart strength to the yarn by inserting the necessary amount of twist.
 To collect twisted strand called yarn onto handy and transportable package by
winding the twisted thread on a cylindrical bobbin or tube.

5. Material, Tools & Equipment :

 RY-5 Ring frame

 Copy & pencil
 Opening tools

6. Procedure :
 First of all, physically observed the building mechanism on RY-5 ring frame.
 Then observed different parts and their functions.
 Then operate the machine and observe building motion in running position.

7. Observation & Calculation :

Parts of building motion assembly

 Shaper wheel
 Shaper shaft
 Worm wheel
 Chain drum
 Lifting lever
 Heart cam
 Single worm
 Depressing piece
 Ring plate

5
8. Results :

Building motion is a complex system for varying winding and chase lengths.

9. Discussion :

The heart cam, which rotates continuously, is the main component of this
mechanism. This cam is attached to a lifting lever that moves up and down and performs two
tasks. The first task of this lever is to move the rachet wheel forward by one tooth, and the
second is to move the chain that connects the bobbin rail. When the chain moves, the bobbin rail
moves as well. The bobbin winding is done step by step. The bobbin rail covers a fixed amount
of displacement after each up and down movement. A rachet wheel is installed for this
displacement, which rotates and winds the chain on the chain drum, reducing the length of the
chain and moving the bobbin rail upward. The rachet wheel has a variable number of teeth but a
constant diameter

10. Conclusion :

The ring frame's building mechanism's function is to wind the yarn on

throughout the bobbin length. This practical teaches us about the ring frame's
construction mechanism.
