What is the difference between AWS Cloud Computing Architecture and AWS
Academy Cloud Foundations?
AWS Academy Cloud Foundations is a new course offering that consists of the first two
modules from the longer AWS Academy Cloud Computing Architecture course. The AWS
Academy Cloud Foundations course content was updated and modified to prepare
students and educators for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam and for educators
to start delivering AWS Academy Cloud Foundations to students.

As a prerequisite for teaching AWS Academy Cloud Foundations, instructors must take
the course and pass the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam. This course and exam
represent the first milestones educators must achieve while working through the AWS
Academy Cloud Computing Architecture course and progress toward taking the AWS
Certified Solutions Architect – Associate exam.
What can I expect from the AWS Academy Cloud Foundations course content?
AWS Academy Cloud Foundations provides a detailed overview of cloud concepts, AWS
core services, security, architecture, pricing, and support. This course is now offered in
two formats including a digital version with narrated slide modules that integrate
knowledge assessments, videos, and links to hands-on labs. Students have access to PDF
content and accredited educators have access to the PowerPoint version of the course
content.

AWS Academy Cloud Foundations is open to all students with an interest in cloud
computing who have general IT business and technical skills and knowledge. This course
represents the first milestone students must achieve while working through the AWS

When can I start teaching students?
Upon completion of the AWS Academy Cloud Foundations course and successfully
passing the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam, you can begin teaching students the
AWS Academy Cloud Foundations course content. You can deliver this content while you
continue your AWS Academy Cloud Computing Architecture instructor accreditation
journey.
Can I embed the AWS Academy Cloud Foundations course into an existing course that I
teach now?
