Stock Transfers - Transfer Postings

Stock transfers can occur between storage locations within a plant, between plants, and between company codes. There are typically one-step or two-step procedures for transferring stock, depending on the stock type and locations involved. Transfer postings update the stock type and quantities but usually do not generate accounting documents, while physical transfers of materials between storage locations or plants may generate material documents and in some cases accounting documents as well. The procedures aim to maintain accurate stock records and tracking while transferring materials between locations.
