INTRODUCTION
In this report we are introducting the History
of Salt , types , uses , food and Salt , necessity
of salt , various Brands of Salt in India etc .
Salt has been produced all along the
Rann of Kutch on the west coast of India for
the 5,000 years . The Rann of Kutch is an
extensive marshland that is cut off from the
rest of the Indian sub - continent during
Monsoons when the seas inundate the 18w
- lying areas .

What is Salt ?
Salt , also referred to as Table Salt or by it’s Chemical formula Na Cl

During the Indian independence movement , Mahatma Gandhi


Organized Salt Styagraha at Dandy . It has been used by human’s for
Thousands of year ,From food Preservation to Seasoning . Salts ability to
preserve food was a founding Contributor to the development of Civilization
. And made it possible to transport food over large distances . How ever
Salt was often difficult to obtain , So it was a Highly valued trade item .

Many Salt roads , such as the via Salaria in Italy , had been established
By the Bronze Age .

KOSHER SALT
Kosher salt or kitchen salt also called cooking salt or Rock
salt . It is used in cooking and not at the table . It consist mainly
sodium chloride .
There are two brands of Kosher Salt .
1) Diamond crystal
2) Morton
For Kosher salt , the shelf life is recommended that the salt
be used up by 5 Years . However , the salt does not exactly
expire . Since there is no Iodine , the shelf life could be
indefinite .

 CELTICE SALT
Celtice salt is a type of sea salt that originally became popular in France .
Celtic salt offers trace amounts of minerals and is a bit lower in sodium than
plain table salt . Celtic salt has a light grayish colour and is quite moist . It is
made from seawater and contains trace amounts of minerals .
The celts were a collection of tribes with origins in central Europe . Since our
founding in 1976 , Celtice sea salt has grown into a worldwide brand ,
recommended for both unique taste and unique health benefits .
Celtic sea salt is harvested by hand . In Brittany , in France . The extraction
method follows a 2000 Year old celtic traditional technique .
 SALT ATTRACTS NO GST

AS PER GST LOW, THERE IS NO GST PAYABLE ON SALT, ALL TYPES SO THE
RATE OF GST PAYABLE ON SALT, ALL TYPES IS NIL RATE. THE GOODS AND SERVICES
TAX (GST) WILL BE LEVIED AT MULTIPLE RATES RANGING FROM O PER CENT TO 28
PER CENT.

 Regular Table Salt


The most Common Salt is regular tablre salt . This salt is usually highly
refined meaning that it’s heavily ground,with most of it’s impurities and
trace minerals rem oved . This type of Salt can clump together.

 SEA SALT
Sea salt is salt that is produced by the evapovation of sea water. It
is also called bay salt , solar salt. This type of salt has been dated to
prehistoric times . All purpose sea salt . Recommended used by date 3 years
. Iodized sea salt 5 years . The chemical formula of sea salt is NaCl . Sea salt
is an ionic compound of sodium cations .
 HIMALAYAN PINK SALT
Himalayan salt is Rock salt mined from the Punjab region of Pakistain .
This type of salt is often pinkish tint due to trase minerals . This salt is
used for cooking and food presentation . And decorative lamps and spa
treatment . The flavour of Himalayan pink sea salt is soft and gentle , with
a touch of sweetness . Since the Himalayan Salt is all - natural without any
added chemicals.It does not have an expiration date indeed .
