Project Timeframe: The proposed project will be religiously implemented at Mariano C. San Juan
Elementary School during the month of October 2020 for about a month to cover
the three (3) lessons. Since the very purpose of this project is to see the
effectiveness of the developed enhancement material in science and health 5. If
the implementation of this project is found effective and contribute to the high
performance of the learners, this will soon be tested to all grade 5 learners.

II. Project Summary: Amidst to the declaration of the Philippine President Rodrigo R. Duterte that the
country is under the state of calamity, the Department of Education had tied up to
the different sectors of the government to assure that the relevance of guidelines
under the IRR will be implemented. As an answer to the existing condition of
covid 19, the DepEd officials engaged themselves to undergo meetings to the
different government agencies. The DepEd reported that chances are to be
unstable and without sense of focus for the learners. This can be reflected to the
reports during the downfall that happened in the advent of earthquake that
happened in Bohol. It Had been reportedly that children even the youth of higher
ages than the elementary level had experiencing difficulties in learning. How
come they would be focused if they were struggled and saddening to the loss of
their loved ones. As an answer to this the grade 5 teachers at Mariano C. San
Juan Elementary School decided to propose a project that will address the
existing problem in education which is the prohibition of face to face learning.
The project proponent believes that education must not be stagnant because it
goes with the society. As the society changes it also evolves but the purpose does
not change.
Pedagogical trainings and seminars for teachers are done in every semester
breaks that focus on the different difficult subjects that the children encountered.
During the past years reported that the Philippines gained a low mastery score in
the main subject areas which are the Math, English and Science. Through this
alarming reports. The school also reflected the same low mastery level of the
pupils in the core subject areas. That’s why the teachers that serve as usher of
learnings are asked to undergo trainings and seminars for them to be able to learn
strategies and techniques on identifying the right decisions in managing and
finding the root causes of the problems that serve as barriers for the improvement
of the pupils’ learning.
During each seminar there is an immediate output after each session to measure
the teachers’ capability to easily learn in a short span of time. Teachers who
underwent trainings and seminars are being observed by the heads if there is a
need for further training and seminars. The acquisition of their skills is presented
in their class execution. The pupils are the main concerns so the teacher itself
needs to be equipped with knowledge, skills and strategies on how to convey
their lessons to the pupils the right logical ways. Through this, there will be lesser
numbers of pupils who are addressed as low performing in the science subject
area. There are pre-test and posttest given to them to see the effectiveness of the
intervention program under the utilization of the developed enhancement
material in science and health 5. The competencies are the same with the MELC
K – 12 Curriculum of the DepEd (Department of Education).
IV. Project Objectives: The general objective of this projects is to ensure quality education in the
elementary level specifically the Grade 5 learners.
