This would lead the leader to become greedy for power and forget their role serving society. Instead, a good leader must be humble and listen to the people. This will allow the community to grow and flourish harmoniously. Leaders must remember that their position and power are fleeting, but their service to others will endure and be remembered.

D1: Urbana at Feliza On the Matter of Leadership


Of the five, choose ONE and explain in a paragraph of at least five sentences why such an
attribute must be the characteristic of a Filipino leader.
“Kaya’t pakaingatan ninuman na huwag nasain na siya’y tingalain, sukuan, iagalang at
pintuhuin ng bayan.”
Based on the literary piece entitled “Ang Katungkulan sa Bayan”, a leader should not be
a person who wants his/her subordinates and people to bow down to him/her. This is because
this characteristic will lead for him/her to become greedy of power that he/she has forgotten
his/her role in the society. Instead, a leader must be humble and knows how to listen to his/her
people. In this way, the society/community that the leader leads, will grow and flourish
harmoniously. A leader should always take note that the position and the power will perish, but
the love and eagerness to serve his/her fellowmen will never end and will always be
remembered.
