form of scale, measuring tape ,thermometer test is requisite for all measurements. A
good test should measure the quality for which it is to be used. It should be simple ,
accurate and easy to administer.

Q11. Define Measurements .
Ans. Measurement is an act or process that involves the assignment of numerical values
to whatever is being tested , It is an aid to evaluate , it consists of numerical values
or scientific scores by expert and also known as raw score.
Measurement refers to the process of administrating a test to obtain quantitative
data. The application of measurement in sports is such that the various tests taken
by a person is translated in numerical values which can be used for comparison
with pre-existing criteria and standards to arrive at an analysis of certain aspects.
Q12. How Waist –hip- ratio test is administered ?
Ans. WHR means Waist –hip-ratio . This is the ratio of circumference of waist to that of
the hips.
Purpose :- To determine the ratio of waist to hip circumference related to risk of
health.
Test administration :- It is calculated by measuring the smaller circumference of the
waist and dividing by the hip circumference at the widest part of buttocks or hip.
The ratio is applied both to men and women.
Evaluation of test :- WHR is good indicator of health and attractiveness of a person .
the ratio 0.7 is considered good and health among women , whereas the ratio at
around 0.9 is considered health among men.

Ans. BMI stands for body mass index . this formula and index was formulated by Belgian
quetelet .this fitness testing is used to measure body composition on the basis of
weight and height .
BMI helps a person to know whether he is underweight , normal weight or
overweight , thus accordingly diet and workout can be done to gain or to reduce
weight.
Purpose :- To measure the general health of individual by body composition.
Test administration :- In this testing /index the health and fitness abilities of
individual is based upon the relationship of height and weight . BMI is calculated by
taking persons weight in kg /gms and dividing by height mt./cm .
