Horizontal Tanks

Features of
Horizontal Tanks

Thermal Insulation: The need for thermal insulation of the shell is


determined by limy oil products storage. A certain temperature needs
to be held to pre-heat or cool the stored liquid. The heat exchange
jacket or a steam- water or electric heating system performs this
purpose. Due to the circulation of the heat transfer medium, the heat
exchange jacket with a density of up to 120 mm can sustain the
temperature regime.
Defense against Corrosion: The tank shell is treated with anti-
corrosion coatings to protect the metal structure against the harmful
effects of stored liquids. Coloring coats with a variety of layers of
polyurethane (first, enamel) on the outside and inside anti-corrosive
protection.
Increased corrosion protection is used as a defender against
underground horizontal storage tanks as the exterior surface is
vulnerable to groundwater impact.
Erection of horizontal tanks: Two or three tank supporting
structures depending on capacity are installed on horizontal above-
ground storage tanks. Concerning the shell interaction with the base,
supports are fixed to the concrete framework inserts.
