LESSON 2.7
DRAFTING SLEEVE BASIC PATTERN
Pajama pants is easy to draft and easy to make. Accurate
measurements should be followed when drafting the basic pattern.
A PRELIMINARY STEPS
.
A - starting point.
B - from A downward is length measure.
C - from A is rise measure plus 2.5 cm for ease.
D - center of C and B. Square out to the left C, D and B.
E - from C to the left is ¼ hips or seat measure plus 2.5 to 5 cm.
Square up from E.
F - is the intersection at line A.
G - from E to the left is 5 cm.
H - from E upward to 5 cm.
I - from F to the right is 2 cm. Connect I to H with a straight line
and with extension on point I.
Connect H to G with a French curve
J - from B to the left ½ bottom measure minus 2.5 cm
K - is the center of G and E. Draw a guideline from K to J
L - is the intersection at line D. Shape the inseam from G to L
and L to J.

REMEMBER
• Much of the success in garment construction depends on accurate
measurements. Taking body measurement is an important step in
sewing clothes for yourself and for others. Without the right
measurement, the result you get may not be accurate.
