Arthur Plan Definition

1. Copy the following structure files from old company plan C0101139_ to the
new import directory D:\PLANS\IMP0113_:

VARMEMB.VM1
VARMEMB.VM2
VARMEMB.VM3
TIMEMEMB.TT1
TLEVEL.TL1
PRODMEMB.PT1
PLEVEL.PL1
LOCMEMB.LT1
LLEVEL.LL1

2. Run MERPL50 and MERPL51 to generate product and location files, then
download them (see Tom's documentation). These will replace the old
PRODMEMB and LOCMEMB files. (MERPL51 takes approx 2 hours to run.)

3. Create a new TIMEMEMB file by editing the old one, using Tom’s program, or
using Comshares utility in D:\ARTHUR\ART-UTIL (haven’t tried it).

4. Use Info Request (total DB) to get the following commander variables in
WSDF files.

Variable Commander (TY) Arthur (LY)

SLS $ A1 A2
SLS U A5 A1
PERM MD $ D1 R9
PERM MD U D5 R8
TEMP MD $ E1 R7
TEMP MD U E5 R6
END INV $ IA S8
END INV U IE S9
WHSE RCPT $ W1 I8
WHSE RCPT U W5 I9

Info Request Notes:

You cannot include more than one year in the same request.
For location, specify TOTAL.
No attributes, no performance, WSDF, 3, sort by product.
Date format example: P9210, P9309.
You can only enter one line of variable codes.
SDSF;PREFIX MERPAD91;H. Get output file name, starting with SA2SXM.

5. Download using SNA Server, MSPlus or FT3270. File name is like:

'SA2SXM.ARTHUR@@.R0000044.S01.WSDF'
6. Use KEDIT or SPFPC to change dates in download files to plan dates (or
change with ISPF EDIT before download).

7. Define company plan in Arthur to department level.

8. Import all downloaded files into company plan using Data Import Manager
(see below).

9. Print report to department level and check all variables against Execu-
View.

10.Split the plan into orbitals, dept thru sales class. Split them all at
once using F8 - see manual for procedure.

11.Use Data Import Manager to bring data in. Use it with DPLAN LEARN= for
each of the import files. When donw Calc and save.

12.Automate with substute, using DPLAN PLAY= . If replacing existing data,

use / Functions Clear out variable first. See 95SHELL.BAT and 95DATA.BAT.

13.Set up LAN permissions for new directories (use department groups).

NOTE: Users should put in prices using DQ. Users should also put in opening
stock, or you can put in a number from the previous plan, using PDT or plan
export.

To redo actuals, replacing prior year with LY:

Initially periods 1-9 are LY and 10-13 are prior year. Takes approximately 6-
8 hours to do the updates, including Info Request.

1. Run the following Info Requests:

File Commander Variables Dates

R87 IA, IE, W1, W5 P9401,P94__
R88 A1, A5, D1, D5, E1, E5 P9401,P94__
R89 IA, IE, W1, W5 P93__,P9313
R90 A1, A5, D1, D5, E1, E5 P93__,P9313

2. Download the files, renaming them R87, R88, R89, R90
