MARTIAL ARTS
TAEKWONDO
PT Tabsing The name Taekwondo is derived from the Korean word "Tae" meaning foot,
"Kwon" meaning fist and "Do" meaning way of. So, literally Taekwondo means
"the way of the foot and fist". The name Taekwondo, however, has only been
used since 1955 while the arts' roots began 2,300 years ago in Korea. Known
as a martial art and way of life, the evolution of Taekwondo was a direct result
of the happenings in Korea long ago, and knowledge of the history is an
important step in understanding Taekwondo.

ALL : We have just witnessed the vigor and adeptness of the Taekwondo
performers of the Batch SIMBAGSIK!
PT Tabsing : Now, another act will showcase batch’s defensive skills. Ladies and
gentlemen, let us witness the selected police trainees of batch SIMBAGSIK as
they execute their Karatedo performance!
KARATEDO
Karate, the Japanese word for “empty hands,” was born in the Okinawan
Islands as a form of self-defense, at a time when weapons were banned by
invading Japanese forces. It began as te (hand), a fighting style used by the
natives of the Ryukyu Islands, and was later influenced by Chinese kenpō,
introduced through the Chinese families that settled on Okinawa after trade
relationships between China and the islands were established.
The purpose of Karate is to guide you out of trouble by any means necessary,
both in actual combat and in life
The ultimate aim of Karate lies not in victory nor defeat, but in the perfection of
the character of its participants.
PT SONZA
PT Dimalanas MEIKYO
Meikyo is most often translated as "Bright Mirror" or "Polished Mirror," perhaps
alluding to the beginning of the kata, when the hands are held up in front of
one's face as if looking into a mirror. The kata also contains several duplicate,
or "mirroring techniques," for example: the opposing directions of the two sets
of gedan-barai and oi-zuki; the pair of bo-uke & bo-dori combinations; and the
double ura-zuki, which is an example of two identical techniques performed at
the same time (in essence, mirroring each other). Meikyo is considered to be
a highly advanced kata yet, for the most part, does not involve any effortful
techniques
PT Ramirez EMPI
Enpi ( 燕 飛 ), also frequently transliterated as Empi, is a kata practiced by
Shotokan and other karate styles. Enpi means Flying Swallow.[1]
Enpi comes from the Okinawan martial art of Tomari-te, where it first
appeared in 1683.It is believed to have been influenced by Chinese boxing. It
was originally called Wansu. Funakoshi Gichin changed the name to Enpi
when he moved to the Japanese mainland in the 1920s. Funakoshi changed
the names of many of the kata, in an effort to make the Okinawan art more
palatable to the then nationalistic Japanese. The most commonly accepted
theory about its creation and development is that a Sappushi Wang Ji, an
official from Xiuning, transmitted the kata while serving on Okinawa. Legend
has that Wang Ji had the habit of throwing and jumping on his adversaries.
Because of this dynamic form of combat, this kata resembles a swallow in
flight.
PT Ramirez BUNKAI
Bunkai (分解), literally meaning "analysis"[1] or "disassembly",[2] is a term used in Japanese
martial arts referring to process of analysing kata and extracting fighting techniques from the
movements of a "form" (kata). The extracted fighting techniques are called Oyo.[city)
Bunkai is usually performed with a partner or a group of partners which execute predefined
attacks, and the student performing the kata responds with defenses, counterattacks, or
other actions, based on a part of the kata. This allows the student in the middle to
PT Dimalanas understand what the movements in kata are meant to accomplish. It also illustrates how to
improve the technique by adjusting distances (Maai), timing, rhythm (Ritsudo) and fluidity
(Nagare) in combat properly, in order to adapt and adjust any technique depending on the
ALL: size of an opponent.
PT Ramirez Today, karate-do is taught all around the world, and though it is often modified
and always changing,
Ladies and gentlemen, you have just seen another ingenious performance
from batch SIMBAGSIK. A round of applause please!
Now, let us see how the selected Police Trainees of batch SIMBAGSIK
demonstrate their proficiency for Arnis/Kali or Escrima.
ARNIS/KALI/ESCRIMA
PT Tabsing : The Philippines is an island nation rich in both culture and history. The Filipino
martial arts of Arnis/Kali/Eskrima has contributed to both the history and
diversity of the Philippines. There are an abundance of styles and systems of
Arnis/Kali/Eskrima that are taught throughout the world to this day, that have
survived and developed throughout the different regions, families and
teachers who have preserved what is sometimes called a “complete” martial
arts.
PT Dimalanas : 2. Baston Anyo Isa – is a Filipino term which means one stick form.
While the knife is said to be the backbone of the Filipino Martial arts
(FMA), the solo baston or single stick is the most popular weapon. As a
weapon, the solo baston is treated in varying ways among the many
systems of FMA. In some schools, it is a mere training tool to teach the
movements of the blade. In some FMA styles however, the stick is
taught as a primary weapon. (Add more)
PT Tabsing : 3. Anyo Synchronized Solo Baston – Perceiving the same foot works
and techniques of the Anyo single Solo baston, the Synchronized Solo
baston is usually executed by two or three performers in the
demonstration of the single stick techniques in a synchronized manner.
It requires focus, timing, precise coordination coupled with speed and
power for the successful execution of the movements and techniques.
PT Ramirez : 4. Baston Anyo Doble (synchronized double sticks) – is undoubtedly
one of the most powerful sub-systems of the Filipino Martial Arts. It
covers an amazing array of combinations that teach the practitioner to
utilize two weapons of equal length such as sticks, swords, etc. Doble
Baston drills are designed to flow seamlessly from striking to blocking
while giving the practitioner the ability to use the weapon in either hand
or both hand at the same time.
PT Tabsing : Self – defense comes in many different forms. To this day, Arnis/Kali/Eskrima
has retained its strong impact to the Filipino Culture. Filipino martial arts and
other forms of martial arts continue to encompass a large range of weapons
training and hand-hand combat, enriching the culture of Filipino society.
PT Ramirez : That ends the batch’s Arnis presentation. A round of applause please.
PT Dimalanas : At this juncture, another set of performers from PSBRC CL 2019-01 Alpha to
Golf, will render a Pekiti Performance as part of their self-defense proficiency.
PEKITI
PT Dimalanas Pekiti-Tirsia's movements are based on the traditional blade art of the
Philippines - Kali, which involves slicing swords in a circular
motion, symbolic of the orbits of the moon and the planets.

5 Strike Saksak

instead of cane.
(Add Melloria vs Requiso)
Pekiti Tirsia Kali today is practised by law enforcement and military, as well as
PT Ramirez civilian enthusiasts of reality based martial arts training and effective self
defense system.
That was a stern performance of Pekiti-Tersia from the PSBRC Class 2019-01
PT Dimalanas batch SIMBAGSIK.
PT Dimalanas : After witnessing the intensity of the batch’s competence in Martial Arts,
prepare yourselves to be amazed by the mastery of the PSBRC class 2019 –

ALL : Ladies and Gentlemen please help us welcome the Civil Disturbance
Management Team.
ALL : The PSBRC class 2019 – 01 Alpha – Golf batch SIMBAGSIK in dealing with
the demonstrators.
PT Dimalanas : Civil Disturbance with its connotation of illegal activity sometimes used to
include a broad range of confrontation depending on the intensity of the
situation from peaceful assemblies to violent attacks on people and property
by the demonstrators.
PT Tabsing : This requires agencies, which have control force mission to develop the
means based on the variable nature of threat and provide a high degree of
effectivity and selectivity. The emphasis on the violent aspects has often
resulted in responses, which aggravate rather than to reduce the problem.
PT Ramirez : One platoon of batch SIMBAGSIK CDM Contingents will perform the different
Civil Disturbance Management Formation headed by PT Francis Dave
Publico.
PT Dimalanas : The platoon leader then asks the ground commander for permission to
proceed.
The Platoon Leader Command VISOR’S DOWN (Wait for the preparatory
command – contingents holding the visors) to signal the START of the Skills
Demonstration.
PT Ramirez : is used more often because of its offensive and defensive applications. As an
offensive formation. It is used to push or drive crowds straight back, across an
open area, or up a city street. As a defensive formation, it is used to hold the
crowd or to deny access to areas.
: This formation is used to support and beef up the LINE FORAMTION if they
were going to push the MOB backward especially when the MOB acted
violently.
Charges are used to push the MOB back and break or destabilize the violent
demonstrator’s plans before they could establish and reinforce primary plans
that may cause further damage to the area.
PT Ramirez : When the intensity of the situation reaches a higher level of disorder, the
platoon leader then directs the troops to execute the UMBRELLA
FORMATION.
PT Dimalanas : It is used to protect the troops against any object which thrown to them by the
mobs.
PT Tabsing : From the umbrella formation the platoon leader orders the troop to execute..
PT Tabsing : It is an offensive formation that is used to penetrate and split crowds into
smaller groups or to push them backwards.
PT Ramirez
: THE DOUBLE WEDGE FORMATION
: is executed to escort VIP’S passing through the crowd. The Spare Bed of the
Arrow formation is design to divide the crowd at the center allowing the VIP’S
to pass through to the demonstrators.
ALL : LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THE ARROW FORMATION!!
PT Dimalanas : is used to isolate the violent crowd and inevitable arrest of crowd leaders or
those who initiate the violence.
The platoon leader with his staff and the squad guides then exit the box
formation and commands the troops to return
PT Dimalanas : The Platoon Leader then commands Visor’s UP to SIGNAL the END of the
skills demonstration
ALL : Ladies and Gentlemen that ends the Demonstration of the Civil Disturbance

PT Tabsing : At this point in time, hold your breath ladies and gentlemen as we witness a
precise and heart stopping demonstration of the Internal Security Operation
Skills of the PSBRC 2019 – 01 Alpha to Golf.
PT Dimalanas : Immediate Action Drill is a drill designed to provide swift and positive reaction
to visual or physical contact with the enemy. During patrol operations, a unit
composed of an 8-man team is sent from a larger force to conduct
reconnaissance and combat patrol.
PT Tabsing : Each of the team members is equipped with individual holistic skills as a result
of the intensive Mental and Physical trainings required for the composition of
the team.
PT Ramirez : Patrols are oftentimes conducted to mountainous areas where hostile units
are prevalent and the element of surprise is the top priority to be taken into
consideration. Exemplary skills for precised reaction and quick decision
making are needed to meet the goals of the patrolling team.
PT Dimalanas : The immediate action drill is also designed to infiltrate areas in any given
location and with skills sufficiency in speed, surprise and swift movement a
deliberate attainment of the successful accomplishment of the assigned
missions. These capabilities include Special Action Team and ideal units to
import in deeper penetrations behind enemy lines.
ALL : Ladies and Gentlemen, at this point in time, let us welcome the PSBRC 2019-
01 Alpha – Golf Batch SIMBAGSIK Immediate Action Drill Team
PT Ramirez : The team is now on their way patrolling the area which is considered as
hostile territory or within the enemy fortress. The movement they are doing is
called as tactical movement. We can observe that each member of the team is
alternately pointing their firearms from left to right, from front to rear of the
elements, covering their respective sectors of fire where the lead scout and
the tail scout accounts a 180 degree angle of their sectors of fire consciously
studying immediate vicinity // vigilantly preparing for enemy presence and
engage them when necessary.
PT Dimalanas : While on patrol, the Special Action Team encounters a temporary halted
enemy force stationing in a bamboo hut. The Lead Scout then signals halt
upon seeing the enemy and calls the Team Leader for confirmation of the
sighted enemy for specific action.// The Team Leader may opt to conduct a
hasty raid or disengage considering the enemy strength and fire cover.
PT Tabsing : In this scenario, the Team Leader decided to engage the enemy using hasty
raid; the team tactically executes skirmisher formation // and discreetly crawls
towards the enemy position using natural cover and concealment available in
the area to avoid the detection of their presence that may compromise the
mission.
PT Ramirez : When the team clandestinely closes in at the enemy point unnoticed, the team
upon the signal of the leader opens fire.// The team commands fire team
ALPHA first to maneuver to the left, which will be followed by the fire team
BRAVO until they reach vantage position.
PT Dimalanas : Observing that there is no resistance from the enemy, the Team Leader will
command ceasefire. Then the team observes the immediate vicinity of
engagement for enemy presence and any possible threat. Then the team
members change magazines in preparation for the assault and search
objective. The team leader then commands for the assault.
PT Tabsing : The patrol swiftly assaults in the direction of the enemy. Moving with accuracy
and shooting only the team target to ensure that the counter side is clear and
all possible threats are neutralized before further advancing towards the limit
of advance. The Lead Scout and the Tail Scout then take their positions to
serve security for the assaulting team.
PT Dimalanas : When the team leader had determined that they are safe, he commands for
search. The Navigator and the Sniper takes their respective position to serve
counter sector security. The search elements then properly search the area
including the bodies of the killed and wounded enemies, in case their bodies
are in a suspicious position or may be capable to execute assault.
PT Tabsing : The search elements take extra care in dealing with them considering that the
enemy may have planted any booby traps.
Enemy casualties were then being properly attended by the team. In case the
enemy is wounded, the team performs Tactical Combat Casualty Care
procedures to treat the wounded enemies and secure them to safer areas.
PT Ramirez : The team then secures the warm bodies of the killed enemies to a certain
area together with the recovered firearms, useful materials, documents and
any other relevant elements that may contribute to the purpose of the mission.
PT Dimalanas : As observed, the security elements provide overall security in the counter
sides.
PT Tabsing : Then the Team Leader calls for the Assistant Team Leader to disseminate
instruction.// When the search is completed and internal instruction is
disseminated, the team will initiate contact through the Radio Man for the
Team Leader to render situation report to the unit and seek for further
instruction.
PT Tabsing : The Assistant Team Leader detonates the bomb planted to the bamboo hut.
(Fire in the hole) Then, the team regroups to patrol formation where the Team
Leader commands for head count and Ammunition, Communication and
Equipment Report.
PT Ramirez : When the hasty raid is completed, the Special Action Team will continue
patrolling to the extraction point.

PT Dimalanas : Upon receiving the items recovered by the Special Action Team, the regiment
then recognizes the vital documents needed for further information relevant to
the team’s mission. In this scenario, the regiment learns that a certain leader
of the New Peoples’ Army known as Commander Baruk is situated at a house
at Bula, General Santos City, a highly urbanized area where the group plots
their plans.
The regiment then orders the CQB team to respond to the needs of the
mission. CQB or Closed Quarter Battle is the last option to be undertaken by
the elite team or police force after the negotiation has failed to neutralize
certain situation or is required infiltrates close spaces.
And now, let us witness our assaulting team as they execute the
insertion phase of the Close Quarter Battle Operation (Please give them a
round of applause).
As you can see, our assaulting team is approaching towards their last
cover and concealment in a catwalk, swift, and precise manner. In a tactical
formation, each team member takes their respective sectors of fire and
carefully observes the ground surrounding until they reach the point.
When the assaulting team reaches the last cover and concealment, the
team leader will contact the ground commander and inform that the Assaulting
Team has reached the LCC.
TL: Sir, we are already on our last cover and concealment. Any advice, Sir?
over
The Assaulting Team then proceeds to the Final Assault Position using
their stealth movement, the Trinum formation. Trinum formation is used to
approach target Houses and Buildings to effectively secure the corners of a
building.
Upon reaching the Final Assault Position, the assaulting team assumes
shuffle up formation. The point man and the door opener will check the door.
Since the door is closed, the Team Leader will instruct the demolitionist to
install improvised explosive devise or IED for explosive breaching to initiate
the assault. Then the team leader will contact the Ground Commander to
inform that the Assaulting team is on their final assault position and is ready to
assault the target area when the green light is on.
GC: Copy that. You have compromised authority; I repeat You have
compromised authority. All line units prepare to assault. The green
light is on, the green light is on! On my count in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

ALL : Once again, Ladies and Gentlemen, the Batch SIMBAGSIK welcomes you to
the Regional Training Center 12, the home of the Region’s Finest.
With the passage on December 13, 1990 of Republic Act 6975 creating the
Philippine National Police under a reorganized Department of the Interior and
Local Government, the PC and INP Training Command was renamed PNP
Training Command and become a primary component of the Philippine Public
Safety College or PPSC. PPSC was created to assume overall responsibility
of the training,[ human resource development and continuing education] of all
personnel of the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, and
Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.
However, last October 7, 2019, the PNP formally took full supervision of the
National Police Training Institute (NPTI) and its 18 regional training centers
from the PPSC,[ 28 years after the organization was deprived of its function to
train its future personnel. The transfer of supervision of the NPTI from the
PPSC to the PNP will allow the police force to have first-hand involvement in
training future police officers. By operation of law, the PNP is now solely
responsible for the making of a complete police officer from recruitment to
retirement.]
(Entrance of staff)
ALL Ladies and gentlemen, let us witness the formal entrance of the officer and
staff of the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course CL 2019-01, Batch
SIMBAGSIK!
7. CIRCLE FORMATION
This formation illustrates our unity and oneness. Batch SIMBAGSIK entered
the portals of this institution as one; and together, we will endeavor to make all
our exerted efforts pay off.
The batch revered Mindanao where tri-people exist. In this formation, the
batch manifests an unwavering respect to the religious and cultural
differences. It further displays the unity of the batch , that despite coming from
different places, having different beliefs, customs and traditions, we still
managed to develop a new family which serves as a reflection of what we are
as a whole, as a batch, as SIMBAGSIK.
The drill further emphasizes that cultural and religious diversity is never a
hindrance in realizing the vision, mission of the organization, rather, with
thorough understanding, it fortifies the interpersonal relationships where the
identification of strengths and weaknesses is foreseen as the realization of
success.
For the PSBRC Class 2019-01 Alpha to Golf, this formation, is a tribute to all
those who have dedicated and sacrificed their lives to stand for justice – those
who fought against any form of discrimination. X is whatever we stand for. But
for us, this attests our stand for respect, equality, and justice in service of the
Filipino People.
Through this saying of Henry Van Dyke, it makes us realize that time depends
on our emotions. There is a time for joy and a time for sorrow. Time is
sometimes the trickiest element. But one thing is important, it never stops.
Time as the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past,
present, and future, regarded as a whole remarks the value of immediate
response to whatever we do.
ALL : So for now, let’s have a look at our wrists for the time check, the time now is
