intellectual styles can be modified.
Task 3:
The four factors mentioned in this topic help the teachers know the needs of the learners
and what or who motivates and helps them develop not just the personal aspect of the students
but also their social factors. Furthermore, to know that every student is a unique individual.
Teachers must consider the diversity in every classroom set-up.

As you can see, each factor has a different contribution to the teaching-learning process.
The first factor tackles how the students learn a new set of knowledge, either collaborative or
individually gain by the students. The second factor talks about the affection and motivation of
the students. It says that the positive and negative emotions of the learners will affect their
learning, and motivation helps the learners be eager to search for knowledge. The third factor
says that the child will develop not just physical but also cognitive, socio-emotional, and
communication to others. While on the fourth factor, it tackles students’ differences.

In conclusion, teachers should consider these four factors to have an effective teaching-
learning process and make the classroom conducive to learning. We should always remember,
not all learning is acquired through self-observation or self-study; learners will also need the
help of their teachers to gain new knowledge and skills.
ACTIVITY 1.2
EXECUTION

Task 1:

Junior
High School

Learner 1: Ezekiel Sucuahi

Characteristic: This student is participative and cooperative in class together with his
classmates. Always replies to the teacher if the teacher is asking questions. Furthermore,
based on my observation towards this student, I observed that this learner is brilliant
because during the class he immediately and accurately answer the given question. In
short, he is fast learner.
Needs: As I observed from him, he needs more examples about the topic, from basic to
complex, to enhance his mathematical skills.

Learner 2: Natan Rabaca

Characteristic: There are so many students who are not participating in the class, one of
those is Natan Rabaca. He is shy, because when the teacher called his name for a
recitation. He did not respond.
Needs: The teacher will choose or conduct activities that excite their students and create a
participation chart. Through these techniques, the class will be participative. In addition,
they need more attention; that is why the teacher must regularly call the students who are
not participating in building/boosting the students' confidence.
Task 2:

Picture A

This picture shows that the students are giving, sharing, or expressing their ideas while one
student is not cooperating with his classmates. It is usually seen in an ordinary classroom
setting, there’s always a student that is not focused or dedicated to the given task/activity
because they usually thought that they can finish the task/activity with the help of his/her
classmates.

Picture B

These pictures show what the students are doing while their teacher is present or not in the
classroom. The first/upper picture shows that the students are playing and messy because
their teacher is not around. On the other hand, the second/lower picture shows that the
students cooperate and listen to their teacher. This means that the students are behave when
the teacher is around.

Task 2:

Personal Insights.
For Teachers
“Kids don't remember what you try to teach
them. They remember what you are.”

— Jim Henson

My Insights:

According to John Locke’s Theory or The Blank Slate Theory, he

mentioned that the child’s brain is blank at birth. However, but it develops
over time as a result of experiences and external influences. With the
influence of the teacher the development of child is inevitable.

“Those who know, do. Those that understand, teach.”

— Aristotle
My Insights:
The single most significant factor in enabling successful learners is the
teacher. Learners need a top-quality teacher to engage and motivate them
to become successful in life. A teacher is essential in the teaching and
learning process because they will address the student’s learning needs
and ensure the learner’s learning style.

“I never teach my pupils, I only attempt

to provide the conditions in which they can learn.”
— Albert Einstein
My Insights: We must help our students to grow by helping them to learn
from their own. Educators usually tend to spoon-feed learners that’s why
there are some learners that are dependent from their teachers. Instead of
giving the answers to students (spoon-feeding), we should help/support
them to complete the task (scaffolding). Through that, students will learn to
be independent, and it will improve their learning.
Personal Insights:

For Learners

“Bodily exercise, when compulsory, does no

harm to the body; but knowledge which is
acquired under compulsion obtains no hold on
the mind.”
— Plato
My Insights: The students will not develop the interest to learn the topic or to
love it. Possibly what we should remember is that specific things must be
learned although there is compulsion. Students must be ready to acquire
new knowledge, that’s why educators don’t need to compel or force their
learners to learn new knowledge. According to Thorndike’s Law of readiness
“students learn more effectively and with greater satisfaction when they feel
ready”. This means that we can engage the students in learning different
things without compulsion.

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you

were to live forever.”

— Mahatma Gandhi
My Insights: Do not be scared to try new things and live life to the fullest.
While we are still alive, learn. Many of us do not learn or expose our minds to
new ideas because we are afraid of what others will think. We should,
however, learn what we want to learn. As students, we should be eager to
learn new things because it broadens our knowledge and reduces our
ignorance of what we do not know. Also, we should learn what makes us feel
good and what does not.

“Never let hard lessons harden your heart; the hard

lessons of life are meant to make you better, not
bitter.”
— Roy T. Bennett
My Insights: It is important to remember that diamonds are produced under
high pressure. We should always remember that to grow; we need to face
hardships and challenges in life. We cannot become better people if we take
an easy path. We should go to the hardest one to become more powerful
and knowledgeable. That is why we need to go with the flow. We can
conquer those hard lessons, not just in school but also in life if we fully
commit ourselves and think positively.

ACTIVITY 1.4
EXECUTION

Task 1

KEY FEATURES OF TECHNIQUES

The term "lifelong learning" is an educational phenomenon that encompasses all life
stages from womb to tomb, as well as all activities intended to improve people's knowledge,
abilities, and competencies. Moreover, lifelong learning aims to cultivate and maintain a good
attitude toward learning for both personal and professional development.

Lifelong learning acknowledges that not all human learnings take place inside the
classroom. It means that we can learn everywhere. There are many environments we can
discover, learn, and gain new knowledge. However, it is up to the students to learn from these
environments because it is a purposeful and voluntary act. Lifelong learners are motivated to
develop and enhance their knowledge and skills because they want it.

Self-management, learning to learn, initiative and entrepreneurship, information

acquisition, digital, and making decisions are the key features to become a lifelong learner.
Therefore, in terms of basic qualities and practice areas, lifelong learning is an important
technique for an individual's personal development as well as professional expertise.
Individuals must learn for the rest of their lives due to quick changes in information and
technology advancements worldwide. Activities such as seminars, conferences, panels, and
others must conducted to raise further awareness of the lifelong learning method.
Task 2

Environment Contribution given to the Lifelong Learner

Library This place is very important to students because
they can search for any information they want.
Moreover, they can discover or gain new
knowledge through books that they have read.
Streets The students will be aware of their safety.
Through this environment, they will learn to
secure their selves and they will become more
vigilant about their surroundings.
Workplace This learning environment will help them to
develop their time management. Due to their
job/s, they will learn to adjust their time and they
will make their assigned task/s on time.
Classroom In this learning environment, the students will
learn different knowledge/ideas in different
subjects. The teacher will teach the subject
matter and the students will gain and share their
thoughts with the class or through activities.
Internet Café Aside from the library, this place will help
students to gain new ideas/information. They will
simply type what they want to search.
School Laboratory This learning environment applies the theory of
John Dewey, where students learn best through
the help of different things or hands-on methods.
In short, the students will learn through doing or
what we called learning by doing.
Church The church helps the students/children to know
and understand our Heavenly Father. In addition,
it teaches us how to be obedient and it educate
us different manners.
Others, please specify: In this area, students can share their ideas,
Students’ Lounge thoughts, or perspective towards a certain topic.
Also, they can share their emotions about the
struggles, difficulties, and hardships they
experienced during their exams or class.
