SOFTWARE PROJECT MANAGEMENT

ASSIGNMENT -1

Intoduction :
The growing world of technology has impacted our lives in many aspects, one of which is the
way we conduct business. The invention of e-commerce introduced a whole new style of
shopping to businessmen and shoppers all around the world. For the everyday shopper, online
shopping is a means to save time and money as they can access all the items a shop has to offer
with the click of a button, whilst being able to find the best deal by scouring the internet for all
related retailers. Due to this very reason retail e-commerce sales have approximately increased
three folds in the past six years [1]. Another reason the e-commerce industry is expanding
greatly is due to the advantages business owners have from it. Business owners have a greater
customer reach due to online shopping. There has been a significant amount of mobile
conversion of business as e-commerce reduces the need for a physical store, hence reducing
the cost of employees and other bills. We are aiming to Launch our e-commerce website as
business point of view once we are finished with our final year project.

Scope :
We intend to develop our project in two phases. We are going to document everything and
build a prototype of our web application in FYP-1 along with implementation of some
functionalities. In the second phase we are going to develop our web application along with its
recommendation system. Our application has two main entities:

 Customer
 Administrator

The key use cases for each of these entities are listed below

 Customer:

Views products.

Views product reviews.

Writes a product review .


Checkout with a list of payment options .

 Administrator:

There are three further subcategories here

Super administrator.

Help desk administrator.

Worker.

Manages all worker profiles and functionalities.

Manages all user profiles.

Checks reports.

 Help desk administrator:

Manages user profiles

Worker:

Manages Products .

Manages Stocks.

Handles Orders.

 Functionalities of our Web application:

Product handling with different categories.

Order Management.

Payment gateways .

Inventory management.

Customer Reviews.

Coupon System for discounts.


Goals and Objectives :
Development of user friendly and error free web apps is very important nowadays, especially
when the usage of mobile devices and the Internet has notably been increased. The primary
goal of our project is to provide a great user experience so that people find it easier to shop
from our platform. Another objective of our platform is to revolutionize the way of online
shopping in Pakistan as well as to fulfill the requirements of our client. In our application, we
are going to offer the functionalities that are very unique. Our main objectives include:

- Product Recommendation System

- Automated sales on the basis of customer orders and views

- Automated emails to the customers about new products and deals

- Monthly coupon gifts to the potential customers

Detailed Plan:
WHY:

We are developing this e-commerce website because online shopping is the new shopping style
now and people are getting into it . So it will be easy for the people to buy their devices by not
going to the shops but getting the machines of their choice from the exact shops they usually
shop from or the shops they like to visit.

WHAT:

I myself will handle the front of the website and its testing task where as my project partner will
handle the backend of the website and its testing tasks.

WHEN:

We have planned to finish the website running in the month of July (2021).

WHERE:
The stakeholders associated with our project will be the business men of the well known plaza
known as Hafeez Center located in Gulberg Lahore and from a well known market of Lahore
named Hall Road.

HOW:

We will include different business men from the well known places and will give them some
access to our e-commerce website so they can upload their products on the website and their
contacts etc.

HOW MUCH:

We well be needing two high speed laptops for each of us.

And some successful meetings with our stakeholders.
