Intelligent 14ch NMEA Combiner

User’s Manual
(Edition 2.2a)

Zinnos Inc.
1. Overview

This ZNC-514 Intelligent NMEA Multiplexer combines up to 14 NMEA

signals and sends it through Ethernet(TCP/IP-UDP), RS422/RS232 and
NMEA2000(optional) ports.
This is very useful for interfacing many navigation / communication
NMEA equipments with such ECDIS, VDR and RADAR, because more
equipments can receive combined NMEA data simultaneously with
using TCP/IP-UDP protocol.
The ZNC-514 NMEA Multiplexer also has an isolated bidirectional
port. All inputs are galvanic isolated for common mode noise rejection
and protect input circuits. This is designed for high reliable and
compliance with IEC61162-1/2.

2. Features

 Combines enough 14 NMEA input data and sends it through one

Ethernet, RS422 and RS232 port each.
 Checks NMEA0183 sentence of input data and rejects it if it is
incorrect format. (selectable)
 One TCP/IP Ethernet, RS422 and RS232 serial output ports are
available.
 Supports UDP mode for more devices receiving NMEA data
simultaneously, near real time and lower traffic.
 Both single UDP and multi UDP port mode are available.
 Easy configuration through RS-232 port with using PC and standard
programs such Hyper-terminal.
 All NMEA input ports are opto-isolated for fully compliant with
NMEA-0183 standard, and protected from over/reverse voltage input.
 One bidirectional ports are also isolated for both input and output
port from main circuit and Input port is compliant with IEC61162-2
 Though all serial input circuits are isolated optically, its support very
high speed.
