Brief History of the Farm (use additional sheets if necessary) Property is family owned. We
decided to dedicate much of the part for rubber tree nursery and bud wood garden. It is named
after our deceased parents who during their time were engaged in sustainable community
livelihood that benefited families in the same community. We choose rubber tree adapting
community based approach livelihood in rural area because it is sustainable, high yield, with
high demand, less competition and it responds to climate change.

Physical description of the farm (terrain, soil, climate, other geographical characteristics)
Its physical feature is plain and partly rugged fronting Italan river. Soil is neutral in PH, it grows
rice, cassava, lemon grass, camote, banana, calamansi, coconut, fruit bearing trees like jackfruit,
mango, santol, guava. As observed, all kinds of plants can grow in the area.

Farm Management Practices

• Nursery Management - Among the practices in managing a Rubber Tree Nursery are:
use of good soil medium, appropriate size of black bags, use of recommended and
certified bud wood sticks for cloning, and sound fertilization program during the early
growth of the planting materials (both on ground and polybag nurseries).

• Planting management (crop rotation, intercropping, tunneling, rain shelter/ greenhouse/

terracing, multicropping, etc.) – regular watering, manual weeding, must observed
proper application of fertilizer and pesticides as per the need.

• Irrigation – it does not apply to CILTEX OPC. Direct manual watering and rain feed are
being practiced.
