Working of Motion Sensor

Motion sensors detect infrared heat waves radiating from moving objects like people or animals. There are three main types of motion sensors: passive infrared, microwave, and dual tech/hybrid. Motion sensors work by transmitting light and converting reflected light into electrical signals proportional to the distance of the target. They are the main device that detects movement in homes for security systems. Motion sensors have applications in gaming, cameras, and home/personal security systems to detect intruders or vehicles.

Motion sensor
Working of Motion sensor:-
Motion detectors or motion sensors are small electronic
eyes that detect infrared waves, i.e. heat waves that radiate from moving
objects. When the detector senses an object moving across its field of view —
especially warmer objects such as people, animals and cars — it
electronically turns on the lights

Types of Motion sensor :-

There are three types of motion sensors that are
used frequently:-
1) Passive Infrared (PIR)
2)  Microwave
3)  Dual Tech/Hybrid

Principle of Motion sensor :-

The motion Sensor transmits a beam of light
through a flexible fiber-optic probe, receives light reflected from a target
surface, and converts this light into an electrical signal proportional to the
distance between the probe tip and the target being measured.
A motion sensor (or motion detector) is the linchpin of your
security system, because it's the main device that detects when someone is in
your home when they shouldn't be. A motion sensor uses one or multiple
technologies to detect movement in an area.

Applications of Motion sensor :-

 It is used in laptops, smartphones and digital cameras for a
higher quality of gaming and navigating experience
 Motion detector sensors also have a wide application in
home and personal security. It is however, impossible
to have a security system without a motion sensor.
 Motion sensors are also used to detect vehicles if an
unauthorized vehicle enters your driveway.
