I. Objectives:
* Identify the sound of letter Zz
* Differentiate the letter name from its phonic sound
* Identify several words that begin with letter Zz in Mother Tongue
*Identify the name of object that begins with letter Zz.

II. Subject Matter: Identifying the phonic sound of letter Zz and objects that begin to it.
References: Kinder Curriculum Guide. Pp.448-455 ,Dagiti Pagsanayan ti
Ilokano, pp. 194-195

Materials : Real objects, boxes, Improvised Flannel Board, TV, Laptop, Extension wire, visual
pictures and Power point presentation. (Indicator 8)

Integration: Mathematics and Writing and Physical and Natural Environment (Indicator 2)
Strategies : Collaborative, modeling, (Indicator 1)

III. Procedure:

b.1. Motivation: (Indicator 2 Language and literacy skill)


Watch as I flash letters. Tell objects that begin with each letter. A person who gets the
correct answer will be given corresponding star for his/her group.

b.2 Presentation
Teacher supervised :) HOTS (Indicator 3 )

Children, I will show you a number, can you tell what number is this? (Children will say the answer)
You are right! this is number is 28.Who will come and write 28 on the board?
Let us look in our alphabet posted in our wall. What letter is number 28?

Yes! That’s right. Its letter Zz. Now let us sing a song about the letter Zz.
Ania ti uni ti letra Zz, letra Zz, letra Zz, ania ti uni ti letra Zz? ZzZzZz …….. Indicator 1

Before we continue let us observe what lines are used in writing letter Zz. Let us stand as we write
letter Zz using the different parts of our body. I’ll show you how.

I have here a big box. Inside the box are objects that we can see at home, here in our room, to the
different places and everywhere. I’ll call a pupil who will just raise his/her without standing and
shouting to pick one and tell the name of the object. Is that clear? (Indicator 5)

C. Discussion (Big Group)(Indicator 4)


Let us name one by one the objects found. If the object starts with Zz put the object in the
box with a label of Zz. If It’s not put the object in the other box.

Show visual presentation of objects that begin with Zz in the power point.

Now, let us name one by one the objects that begin with letter Zz.

D. Small Group Activity (Indicator 6)


Before you proceed to your group activity I want you to remind of the following:
1. Cooperate with your group
2. Clap your hands if you finish the activity
3. Five stars will be given to group whose work has no mistake, 4 stars if there is one mistake and 3
stars if there are many mistake.
5. The most disciplined group will receive prizes. Indicator 5

E. Guided Practice or Application (indicator 7)

Let’s have a quick look on the TV Screen let’s have mind exercise. I’ll flash a picture. If the objects
starts with Zz you clap your hands, if not put your hand on your head.
Valuing: What is the name of the place where the animals are taken care off? Why is it that we
should obey rules and regulation inside the zoo?

E. Generalization (indicator 7)
What is the sound of letter Zz?
What are the objects that begin with letter Zz?
Is the upper case and lower case letter visually the same?

IV. Evaluation (indicator1& 9)

Direction: Write letter “z” below the picture if the picture begin with letter z. If the picture does not
