(a) Registration

i) Leaving certificate (An original and three photocopies) from


your previous school, duly

stamped and certified by your former headteacher.

ii) Original KCPE result slip, and three photocopies of the


same, duly stamped and

certified by your former headteacher.

iii) 3 recent passport size photographs, duly certified by


your former headteacher.

2 recent passport size photographs, of both parents where


applicable.

iv) 3 copies of your birth certificates.

v) Kshs. 662= for a cup, a spoon and a plate.

vi) Kshs. 2,650/= for mattress 4” medium density (74 x 30 x 4’’)

vii) Kshs.400/= Student digital identification smart card


(b) Stationery

i) 1 fountain pen, a set of biro pens

ii) 3 HB pencils

iii) A 30cm ruler

iv) Brown paper for covering personal textbooks and exercise


books.

Fees

The school fees schedule for 2021 is attached. Please note that no
student will be admitted if he does not pay fees for first term in
full.School fees should be paid in the school accounts;-

FEES STRUCTURE 2021

The school fees payable shall be KES. 53,554.00

Parents are encouraged to pay in full the whole amount.

Payments per term is as follows:

Term One – KES. 30,000.00

Term Two – KES. 13,554.00


Term Three – KES. 10,000.00

TOTAL – KES. 53,554.00

NB: The Government of Kenya under the Free Day Secondary

Education pays KES. 22,244.00 per year for every student admitted to a
public secondary school. Additionally, the Government shall pay national
examination fees for every KCSE candidate.

School Uniforms

It is your responsibility as a parent to provide all the required


uniforms in the right colour and shade. A list of the required school
uniform items is provided. No student will be allowed into the school
without all items of uniform. However, once the P.E. uniform is paid
for, it will be delivered to the school after admission and house
allocation is done.

Medical Attention

The school has a sanatorium where two nurses attend to the students.

Attached herewith, you will find a medical form which you should fill in
triplicate. This will assist the school to determine which line of
treatment to take in case your son falls ill. Our sanatorium may not
cope with all ailments, so it is important that you indicate which
hospital and doctor we may refer your son to incase of a complication
beyond our ability. Remember that, should we refer your son to a
hospital outside the school, you will be required to pay for the
expenses incurred. However cases of accidents in and out of school in
the course of the year will be covered by the Insurance.

Worship

Spiritual nourishment is very important for one to maintain high


standards of discipline. One needs God’s guidance at all times. To this
end, Sunday services are mandatory. S.D.A members are expected to have
their service on Saturdays ONLY.

The school has 2 chapels; the Catholic Chapel and the Protestant Chapel.
We also have a Mosque to cater for Muslim students.

Games

The school offers a very wide range of sports i.e. football, rugby,
volleyball, lawn tennis, track and field events, hockey, cricket,
basketball, Golf and a number of indoor games. We encourage students to
participate in these games or specialize in one of them because as the
saying goes “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”

Preamble

“No student shall act contrary to the demands of decency or common sense”

Guidelines

Every student is not only expected to obey the school rules but also
conduct himself in a manner that befits being a student in a national
school and living up to the school motto, “Nothing but the best.”

Hence, these guidelines:

1. Every student must be loyal to the school and be ready to defend


its good name at all times. He

must also be ready and willing to contribute positively towards


the running of the school through

participation in class and house meetings, use of suggestion box


and direct approach to the

authorities.

2. Every student must work diligently and consistently to maintain the


school’s high standards. This

will involve doing and completing all assignments within the


period set by the teachers, and

studying hard.

3. It is the duty of every student, as a loyal member of Lenana School,


to report any cases or

incidents of wrong doing that he encounters or come to his notice.

4. Lenana School is founded on Christian religious faith and belief;


hence every student must attend

scheduled prayer meetings and services. The students of other


religious faiths will attend their

respective services.

5. All students are expected to wear clean, neat uniforms in good


condition, must observe personal

hygiene and maintain cleanliness at all times.

6. A student must do community work as assigned and will also


participate in clubs and games as

required.
7. Every student must be good to and treat others (seniors, peers or
juniors) with kindness and

consideration.

8. Students are prohibited from walking across lawns; they must use
only the appropriate footpaths.

9. All students should report sickness to the school nurse who will
treat and/or inform parent if need

be. Treatment outside the school must be through the


appropriate channels.

10. Every student should maintain cleanliness in their area of


operation (compound, house, class,

dining hall etc.) at all times. Every student is expected to


observe/participate in environmental

conservation.

11. Communication to parents/guardians will be only through the nurses,


class teachers or House

masters. Any other channel is illegal.

Rules

Section One

Students must observe the following school rules: Failure to which will
lead to serious disciplinary action.

1. a) A student will only leave the school compound after obtaining

official permission in writing. On reporting back the


student must also follow the official

channels.

b) Breaking bounds will lead to suspension.

2. Roll calls, parades, assemblies, devotions and worship services


are compulsory for all students.

3. Every student must be punctual and attend all classes as per the
academic timetable and all

school programs.

4. Every student shall report back to school (at the beginning of


term, after half-term, etc) on the
scheduled day and time.

5. Students must not come to school with mobile phones, radios,


walk-mans, TV/Computer games,

electric coils or any other electrical/electronic gadgets.

6. All students shall communicate using no other language other than


English, Kiswahili or any other

language being taught at the school.

7. Students will properly and decently wear the prescribed school


uniform at all times, in school.

Sports clothes and proper footwear must be worn for all games.

8. All school property and equipment must be handled with due care and
properly accounted for and

any damage or loss will be charged to the one responsible.

Section Two

Committing any one of the below mentioned offences will lead to


exclusion from the school:

1. Stealing – from other students, teachers, school property,


support staff or the general public.

2. Acts of Vandalism i.e. destruction of property, in or outside


school, is totally prohibited.

3. Planning or carrying out any student unrest by way of strikes,


walk-outs or boycotts.

4. Harassing other students i.e. through bullying, molesting or


‘monolization’

5. Cheating in examinations – internal examinations or in national


– constitutes an exam

irregularity and will not be tolerated.

6. Smoking, drinking alcohol or being involved in drug and


substance abuse/peddling is a

serious offence and may lead to being handed over to law enforcers.

7. Trafficking, hiring, sale or exhibition of pornography is a


serious offence that may further

compel the offender(s) being handed over to the police.


8. Disobeying and/or disrespecting all those in authority – the
principal and members of the

teaching and non-teaching staff, prefects and anyone else.

9. Committing any criminal offence while in or out of school i.e.


contrary to the Penal Code of

Kenya.

10. Habitually breaking school rules.

ROLE OF PARENTS/GUARDIANS

1. You must be responsible for ensuring that school fees and


any other financial levies

required by the school are met promptly. Every parent shall pay all the
prescribed fees in full and on time in order to avoid wastage of
student’s learning time by being sent home, due to non-payment.

3. You will be expected to provide maximum co-operation to


the school Administration in

enforcing School Rules and Guidelines in order to attain a high standard


in school discipline.

scrutinizing the Term Report Forms and discussion with their children’s
teachers.

the event of a sudden illness or

accident, the child will be taken to the nearest hospital and the
parent/guardian will foot all the

expenses incurred.
