Catfines (Al+Si): 34 ppm of AL+SI present in the sample, catfines at this level in the fuel can cause abrasive wear in
rubbing surfaces of cylinder and fuel system. Ensure efficient purification of this fuel to bring down the catfines
limit to below 15ppm.
Potassium: Potassium at 132 PPM noted in the sample. Potassium at this level may cause problem with the turbo
charger nozzle rings while using this fuel. At this level of potassium in the fuel, Vessel can experience deposition
and corrosion of turbo charge nozzle ring and SCR (Selective Catalytic Reactor) units. Suggest to monitor the
performance of T/C closely and carry out washing/cleaning more frequently if any drop in speed and/or charge air
pressure is observed.
Stability: The Total Sediment Potential result is 0.03% and therefore the fuel can be considered stable.
Compatibility: Avoid commingling this fuel with any other fuel, before testing their compatibility. If commingling is
unavoidable, keep the commingling ratio as low as possible.
