Please accept this letter in support of the enclosed H-1B non-immigrant petition filed by Patni
Americas, Inc., herein Patni, on behalf to employ Ms. Supriya Mangam, so that he may serve our
company in the specialty occupation position of Computer Systems Analyst for a temporary
period of approximately three years. The proposed position requires that the individual perform
services that require a theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized
knowledge. Any candidate must hold a baccalaureate or higher degree, or its equivalent, to
qualify for the proposed position.

 The Position Offered

Patni requires the services of Ms. Supriya Mangam, so that she may serve in the specialty
occupation position of Computer Systems Analyst on a project for our client Metropolitan Life
Insurance Company, herein MetLife, at its office in Clarks Summit, PA. MetLife is a Leading
Insurance company in United States. Around the world, the MetLife companies offer life,
accident and health insurance, retirement and savings and reinsurance products through agents,
third-party distributors such as banks and brokers, and direct marketing channels. The company
works with families, corporations and governments to provide them with solutions that offer
financial guarantees in their lives. Ms. Mangam sole worksite will be at Clarks Summit, PA.

MetLife’s Individual Division is in the business of issuing individual insurance policies,

including fixed and variable annuities and fixed and variable life insurance, etc. The Project
comprises of various web-based, windows based and mainframe applications which charter for
various Insurance processes of MetLife Inc. This project is to provide QA services to test new
product implementations, enhancements and defect fixes done due to changes in business
requirements. These changes are covered through multiple releases during the year, and require
to be thoroughly verified before being moved to Production or Live environment. Function of the
systems is to facilitate life cycle of insurance policies. It processes all different transactions on
the insurance policies and stores the insurance policies information. The implementation of this
project would also help to providing QA services to test new product implementations and
enhancing the existing product/system.

In this position, Ms. Mangam will be responsible for requirement analysis, ambiguity review,
test scenario identification, test case creation, test data creation, maintenance of test data and test
repository, data validation, system testing, regression testing, documentation and coordination
with client & project manager for status reporting. She will usually work in a team to execute test
cases, do defect identification and defect tracking. She will be responsible for Analyzing testing
reports to understand problems easily in specific area of application. She will use client’s testing
repository management tool and defect management tool. Given below is a table that outlines

In return for her professional services, the beneficiary will receive annual compensation of
$49600. She will also be eligible for our standard company provided benefits, as outlined in the
attached letter offering employment to Ms. Mangam.

 Employer-Employee Relationship

As outlined in the attached employment offer letter, Patni offered employment to Ms. Supriya
and She accepted such employment by signing the offer letter. The letter sets forth the terms and
conditions of employment. The employment agreement is “at-will” employment and can be
terminated by either party at any time. The letter also confirms that Patni will provide benefits to
Mr. Issac Varghese, and that such benefits package is the same for all employees. Further, the
offer indicates that all books, manuals, equipment, etc. are and shall remain the property of
employer. This is evidence that employer provides its employees with the necessary tools and
equipment to carry out the duties of the job. Taken together, these particular provisions are
evidence of a bona fide employer-employee relationship between Patni and the Beneficiary.

Please also note that Patni is fully responsible for directing, supervising, and controlling the
employment activities of all its employees. Patni retains exclusive control over the hiring, firing,
and assessment of job performance for all of its employees working at MetLife’s facilities.
Furthermore, Patni pays their employees’ salaries and provides all of their employees’ benefits.
MetLife does not control the work of Patni’s employees whatsoever.

Specialty Occupation: Minimum Requirements

At Patni, a Computer Systems Analyst is required to possess at least a Bachelor’s degree or its
equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related
field. Only an individual with this level of education would have the knowledge required to
perform the duties of this position. These minimum requirements are consistent with the
requirements for comparable positions in the industry and they clearly mark this position as a
specialty occupation eligible for the issuance of H-1B visa. Patni, like other computer consulting
and software development companies, does not and will not employ Computer Systems Analysts
unless they meet this minimum standard.

Please note that our customers require superior service and demand highly advanced and
consistent performance. Projects must be completed quickly and efficiently in order for our
customers to function profitably. We have found that our minimum standard regarding our
employees’ levels of education and expertise is consistent with the industry standards and
ensures that our customers’ expectations are continuously met.

The Information Technology industry is constantly evolving and technological advances in the
field occur at a rapid rate. In order for Patni to maintain its edge within the industry, it is
imperative that we employ professional level personnel who have the necessary education in
order to carry out tasks effectively and within appropriate timeframes.

 The Beneficiary

Ms. Mangam is well qualified for the offered position. She possesses a Bachelor of Engineering
Degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Mumbai in Maharashtra, India. This
degree has been evaluated by a highly respected educational evaluation firm, The Trustforte
Corporation and determined to be equivalent to a << Bachelor of Science >> degree in <<
Electronic Engineering >> from a regionally accredited college or university in the United
States.

We submit to you that Beneficiary qualifies for the position offered based on her education
alone. However, in addition to her educational background, Ms. Mangam possesses
approximately one and a half years of related professional experience as a Software Engineer
with Patni Computer Systems, Ltd. and Patni Americas, Inc. Therefore, she is ideally suited for
this position.

 Terms of Employment

We currently intend to employ Ms. Mangam for a period not to exceed three years in the position
offered. We have filed a Labor Condition Application with the U.S. Department of Labor, and
will abide by the terms and conditions of the application. We understand the temporary nature of
her employment, and she is also well aware of this condition.
