GENERAL
1.1 Vendor shall supply valves in accordance with the valve specification sheets along with accessories as mentioned in the specification sheets,
notes and other enclosures to the requisition.
1.2 Vendor shall quote in strict accordance with the valve data / specification. Deviations if any shall be listed clause wise. Even clauses which
are acceptable shall be categorically confirmed as “ACCEPTED” on valve specification sheet against MANUF’S OFFER column in data sheet.
1.3 Bids only from original valve manufacturers or from their authorized dealers only will be accepted. In case of dealers, they need to attach
valid letter of authentication from OEM.
1.4 Part offers will be treated as incomplete and will not be considered for evaluation. Incomplete offers will not be accepted. The bid
evaluation will be done based on total cost of all the items, and not by piecewise evaluation. The order will be issued only for the full set of
items given in Table-1.
1.5 Final acceptance of the valves will be issued only after the successful completion of Pre dispatch inspection by purchaser’s agency and after
safe receipt of all the items including all relevant test reports at purchaser’s premises .
2.0 DOCUMENTATION

2.1 Vendor shall submit Manufacturer’s complete descriptive catalogue showing detailed cross section drawing with parts, materials lists,
weights etc.
2.2 Test reports shall be supplied for all mandatory tests as per the applicable code.
2.3 Material test certificates (physical property, chemical composition & Heat treatment report) of the pressure containing parts shall be
furnished for the valves supplied.
3.0 DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
3.1 All flanged valves shall have flanges integral (Except forged valve) with the valve body. Flange finish shall be serrated finish(250-500ARH) or
125AARH as mentioned in respective specification.
3.2 Valve body / bonnet shall be forged / cast as specified. Forging is acceptable in place of Casting, but not vice versa.
3.3 Material of construction of Yoke shall be minimum equivalent to body/bonnet material.
3.4 Stelling/Hardfacing by deposition shall be minimum 1.6mm. Renewable seat rings may be seal welded.
3.5 Spiral wound bonnet gaskets are to be provided with inner/outer ring except when encapsulated gasket type body – bonnet joints are
employed.
3.6 Stem shall be forged or machined from forged/rolled bar. No casting is permitted.
4.0 INSPECTION AND TESTING
4.1 Every valve shall be subjected to mandatory test/ checks by the manufacturer as mentioned in the specification / Data sheet or relevant
code.
4.2 Forged valves should undergo Visual and dimensional inspection, Review of Material test certificates, Any mandatory or supplementary
tests, hydrostatic tests on 10% valves selected on random basis, Strip check for 1% of total ordered quantity of valves against each.
4.3 Cast steel valves should undergo Visual and dimensional inspection, review of Material test certificates, Review of radiographic reports or
any other NDT tests wherever applicable as per data sheets. Any mandatory or supplementary test, Hydrostatic test, 100% for the body ,
10% other test, Strip check for 1% of total ordered quantity of valves against each
5.0 IBR CERTIFICATION
5.1 For valves described IBR in item list or specification, valves shall be in accordance with the latest version of IBR (Indian Boiler Regulation),
including the requirements specified in the specification.
5.2 SW/BW valves under IBR, the chemical composition shall conform to the following.
Carbon (Max) : 0.25%
Others (S,P,Mn) : As per IBR regulations.This composition is not valid for Non IBR valves
5.3 For valves described IBR, test certificate in form III-C shall be furnished, signed by IBR inspection authority or an approved representative.
5.4 All IBR valves shall be painted Red in Body-Bonnet /Body cover joint.
