5. Answer all of the following 3 questions:

● A. Express your opinion about the information in the article. (This is on the
information in the article and not just how well it was written.)
● B. What did you learn from the article? (If you did not learn anything, choose
a different article).
● C. How can the information affect your life? Or, if the information does not
affect your life, whose life would it affect, and in what way?

A. I feel that any protest is important no matter what view you have on the topic. The most
important thing is that you speak up for what you think is right in a respectful and peaceful way.
It does not matter the issue any and every protest should be peaceful and for the police to turn it
violent is wrong and that goes for the protestors too.
B. I learned that peaceful protests can turn violent at any moment. But, it does not matter which
side goes into negativity as both sides will treat eachother the same.
C. This information has already made me feel connected to the article. I am a African american
girl living in America who experiences racism almost on a daily basis, and to see people out
protesting everyday with all types of races to fight for mine makes me feel so warm and more
protected. I feel more bound to see change and to have a change in racism when it is my time
to grow up and live on my own in this cruel world.

6. If you were going to write a detailed report about the topic covered in the article,
what are three questions that you would ask in order to acquire additional relevant
information that was not mentioned in the article?

1. What happened in Chicago to make people protest?

2. What led to the violence?
3. What could be more deep to the arrests and violence that occured during this protest?

There was a fight at a High School basketball game. A police officer tried to break up the
fight. The New Orleans French Quarter a Police Officer was shot in the lower left cheek going
through right under his eye. He was later sent to the hospital in critical condition. The officer
unfortunately did not make it.

● A. Express your opinion about the information in the article. (This is on the

● B. What did you learn from the article? (If you did not learn anything, choose
a different article).
● C. How can the information affect your life? Or, if the information does not
affect your life, whose life would it affect, and in what way?
A. This article was a devastating story. I feel that this man lost his life protecting kids and doing
his job. I feel that the kid who shot him should be sent to jail. Even though he is just a kid he
was obviously mature enough to figure out how to possess a gun.
B. I learned that being a police officer is a very dangerous job. Everyday, they go into work not
knowing what the day holds. Which is the same case with most jobs, but the difference with
being a cop is that they don’t know how dangerous and risky their day is going to be.
C. This affects me because I am a high school student as well. I go to basketball games,
parties, and football games like any other teenager. This happened because of a kid close to my
age which sickens me. I know that I would never be capable of even holding a gun with an
intention of killing any living thing.
6. If you were going to write a detailed report about the topic covered in the article,
what are three questions that you would ask in order to acquire additional relevant
information that was not mentioned in the article?

1. Was the kid from a bad neighborhood?

2. Why were the kids fighting?
3. Who gave the child a gun?

In January 2021, a recount of votes occurred for the 2020 election. Joe Biden was still the
winner, and Trump’s supporters were not happy at all. The senate house wom for the democrats
as well. Riots occurred at the capitol after the event. Republicans broke into the Capitol. After
the break in, 1 individual was killed and 4 others were injured.
5. Answer all of the following 3 questions:
● A. Express your opinion about the information in the article. (This is on the

● B. What did you learn from the article? (If you did not learn anything, choose

● C. How can the information affect your life? Or, if the information does not
affect your life, whose life would it affect, and in what way?
During the night, in the New Orleans French Quarter a Police Officer was shot in the
lower left cheek going through right under his eye. He was later sent to the hospital in critical
condition.
A. I feel that the Trump supporters should have not broken into the capitol period. When Black
Lives Matter were rioting they were maced, beaten, and arrested. WWhen the Trump supporters
broke in, there was no national guard called and only one African American police officer
defending the capitol. Trump supporters did that because they were mad Donald did not win.
Black Lives Matter was for the innocent black men and women’s lives taken repeatedly.
B. I learned that America is not fair for minorities from this article. The way Black Lives Matter
rioters were treated was completely inhumane but the reason for it was to get them “under
control” and there was no control over the capitol riots.
C. This information affects my life because Black Lives Matter was rioting and lots of people
were treated horribly turning this time and were fighting for black men who were lost unfairly to
police brutality. When the Trump supporters broke into the capitol there were no police or
national guard during this time. I felt this was unfair and made me feel more unsafe as a young
black woman living in america.

6. If you were going to write a detailed report about the topic covered in the article,
what are three questions that you would ask in order to acquire additional relevant
information that was not mentioned in the article?

1. Why were the police and national guard not called?

2. Why did they decide to break in after the election of the senate?

3. What influenced the Trump supporters to do so?

exactly what the article was about.
On March 22, 2021 it was declared that the deadliest protest had occurred. The military
killed at least 114 people and sadly a very young girl died in the arms of her father. This girl was
only seven years old. This event occurred in Myanmar, leading many citizens to flee into the
forests because of their military air striking 44 cities. They were raging through villages as well
causing more victims to leave their home.

A. I feel that the military should not be interrupting any peaceful protests. Considering this did
not happen in the United States it should still be a human right. Different Countries have
different beliefs but this whole event is just the military being cruel and abusing their power
B. I learned that they teach us in school to use our voice and to take action but recently with the
news articles about men, women and even children are being killed for voicing their opinion and
fighting for what is right.
C. This does not affect my life but it does scare me. Not only are protests turning into violence in
the United States but it is all over the world and nowhere seems to be better it only is worse or
just the same. This problem makes me feel like we will never be able to voice our truthful
opinion and will be able to fight and be heard for it.

6. If you were going to write a detailed report about the topic covered in the article,
what are three questions that you would ask in order to acquire additional relevant
information that was not mentioned in the article?

1. Why is the military abusing power?

2. Who is giving the military these orders?
3. What is the person’s political views to give the military these orders?

exactly what the article was about.
On April 11, 2021 a 20 year old man was shot and killed by a police officer. This incident
occurred just miles from where George Floyd was killed. Daunte Wright was pulled over for
having air fresheners in his car. The police officer claims that she meant to reach for her taser
instead of her gun and accidentally shot him. Wright’s body laid on the street for six hours until
someone finally called. In other words the police officer did not call any ambulances or anything,
instead left his body out in the open despite a child possibly seeing his body.

A. This whole situation is unfair. I think the police officer is not being truthful at all. First of all a
taser and a gun are two totally different things. A gun is way heavier than a taser and there is a
trigger on a gun whereas on a taser there is a button. If she did this on accident she would have
taken care of his body properly. Instead she left his body out there like it was nothing.
B. I learned that nobody is safe in this world. Especially if you are a African American citizen
living in America. I believe my people will always have to watch their backs from now and until it
comes to be my grandchildren’s time
C. This story definitely affected my life because my biggest fear is getting pulled over. Everytime
I hear a black man or woman being shot by police it lets my fear grow more and more everyday
as I decide to get behind the wheel. It frightens me even more because my older brother is a
black man living in America, even worse he lives in the same city where George Floyd and
Daunte Wright were murdered.
6. If you were going to write a detailed report about the topic covered in the article,
what are three questions that you would ask in order to acquire additional relevant
information that was not mentioned in the article?

1. Why did no one see his body for six hours?

2. How did this woman not see that she pulled out her gun?
3. What are they teaching the police officers in Minnesota?
