VI. RATIONALE:
As mandated by RA 7079 also known as CAMPUS JOURNALISM ACT of 1991, the
proponents planned to conduct series of training workshops for campus journalists and staff
which will enable them to acquire and develop their journalistic and literary skills, specifically in
writing.
This activity would also help our campus journalists to prepare in the upcoming Division
Schools Press Conference which will be held on September 26-27, 2019 and to prepare the staff
in the production of the campus paper.
Since the school paper advisers also have other concerns and duties other than school
publication, hence they still have not given full attention to the training of pupil journalists. It is
on this matter that the proponents designed a project proposal to have training in campus
journalism.
VII. OBJECTIVES:
General:
Develop the journalistic and literary skills of the campus journalists and staff in the field
of news, editorial, sports, feature, etc. through the lectures and workshops provided by the
facilitators.
Specific:
1. Enhance the journalistic and literary skills of the participants in the different
writing events.
2. Improve the performance in the Division Schools Press Conference
3. Layout the first issue for SY 2019-2020
4. Bring out related concerns about campus journalism
VIII. IMPLEMENTING PROCEDURES:
A. Project Description:
This project is a school-based design that will be attended by identified pupils
coming from the Special Program Journalism Class from Grade 4 to 6. This will guide
and direct the pupils to develop their skills in writing. This training will likewise boost
the interest of the students about local and national issues which are beneficial in their
learning and social awareness.
B. Strategic Description:
1. Pre- Implementation Stage
A. Planning, preparation and submission of Letter request of project proposal,
training design and work plan to the higher office for approval
B. Sourcing out of funds through solicitation letter and registration of pupils for the
needed materials
2. Implementing Stage
A. Information dissemination to the participating campus journalists, lecture -
facilitators
B. Conduct of Seminar Workshop
3. Post- Implementing Stage
a. Preparation and submission of the terminal report to the higher office
