Statement of purpose

With an ever-diversifying supply chain worldwide, it becomes imperative for


businesses to make intelligent assessments of their current status and optimize
it for maximum efficiency. I was interested in the field of the supply chain
when my father told me to look after the delivery of our products while I was
in my higher secondary school in the most optimal way of being able to ship 1
ton of cashew within two weeks. Although hypothetical in nature, I was
surprised by how many contingencies had to be accounted for, as well as how
to balance production costs versus shipment costs and timing. From that point
on, I developed a keen interest in supply chain management, and I hope to be
able to continue growing my knowledge and understanding of the field
through this M.Sc. program in Supply Chain Management.

For the past three years, I have been studying an aspect of supply chain
management. My three years bachelor’s course specialized in Port and
terminal and Supply chain management. In which I was fully thought about the
logistics aspect of the chain, how to move the goods and which is the most
convenient and safest way to move it. As a part of my course curriculum, we
have an internship compulsory after the end of every academic year, my first
internship was with Dachser India Pvt Ltd. I choose that company because it
gave me the international view of the logistics sector and the solution to
handle the problems on the global scale. There I was thought about real-life
challenges and problems faced by the employees in the logistics sector and the
current market trends and challenges. To add to my skill set I have done
certification course in ‘Fundamental of digital marketing’ from google garage
and I have learned Japanese language up to N5 level.
The reason why I chose the Rennes School of Business because of its multi
-culturism and its international connection, but thing that attracts me the most
is the motto of the university ‘Unfarmed thinking’, it matches my own personal
living style to think outside the box and not to stick to convectional ways, but
to think of a way never thought before and to be the first to make it visible to
the world.
I believe that a better understanding of concepts and perspectives can lead to
more targeted change, and this program in Supply Chain Management will give
me a strong foundation of knowledge that I can utilize to build future
advances. I look forward to engaging with my classmates in group-based focus
projects that will closely mimic the types of scenarios that I will encounter in
my future line of work. The ability to learn from experts in the field will give me
access to real-world advice and concepts that I can readily apply to future
positions in the field. Ultimately, this M.Sc. in Supply Chain Management will
enable me to enhance company performance through careful assessment and
repartitioning of resources to ensure maximum efficiency.
