FOR CKER, KRI MINI LIBRARY.

1. Purpose
This document provide the general information regarding to the CKER, KRI mini
library management and activities.
2. Responsibility
The Cker Mini Library committee has the primary responsibility of ensuring that this
procedure is implemented.
3. Processes
3.1 The core activities of the Mini Library Committee are :
3.1.1 Collection development
3.1.2 Organization of information materials
3.1.3 Management of short loan circulation
3.1.4 Management of long loan circulation
3.1.5 Preservation of books
3.2 Process for collection development
3.2.1 The Cker Mini Library committee coordinate the methods of collection
development,including: purchases, gifts, donation, interlibrary loans and
exchange programmes on a continuous basis.
3.3 Organization of information materials
3.3.1 The new books will undergo classification, cataloguing and physical
process.
3.3.2 New information materials are recorded in the Cker Mini Library record
with sufficient information such as author name, title, publisher and year
publish.
3.4 Process for Short Loan Circulation (Journal)
3.4.1 The Cker Mini Library Committee classifies library user according to the
following categories: Postgraduate, PhD and Post-Doc.
3.4.2 User are allow to select the scientific journal.
3.4.3 Journal are the only ones that qualify for short loaning (1 day).
3.4.4 Borrower should leave their student number and contact number.
3.5 Process for Long Loan Circulation (Books)
3.5.1 The borrower select the book
3.5.2 The borrower inform the Cker Mini Library Committee about borrowing
that book
3.5.3 The borrower fill the information in the Cker Mini Library record book with
date, book title, author, borrower name, borrower contact number and
borrower student number.
3.6 Process for Preservation of Books
3.6.1 Remove books showing signs of falling apart from circulation and take to
the bindery
3.6.2 Loose cover are bound for reinforcements
3.6.3 Books in a shelf are left loose for ease of removing and shelving.
3.6.4 Environment within the library is frequently checked to make sure books
are not damage by moist and direct sunlight.
