Does religion make you arrogant and self-righteousness?

In my opinion, No because when you

join a religion the purposes is to achieve the goals of salvation for oneself and others, and (if
there is a God) to render due worship and obedience to God. But base on the article many great
figures in human history have argued that religion is truly about tolerance, inclusiveness,
universals, and respect. Studying war and peace, both the conflict and the overcoming of it,
teaches invaluable lessons for our world, which is still so troubled by old divisions and terrifying
violence.

Religion divide more than it unites people based on the article religion has divided people more
than ever. Like culture, in some cases, these differences in beliefs cause conflicts and
misunderstandings in the argument of truth and dominance in the past centuries. On the other
hand, religion has also enabled people to contemplate on the non-physical aspect being- their
spirituality. Undoubtedly, there are some aspects of religion that make it a source of conflict;
however, looking back in history, in light of the great religious leaders, religion has also fostered
peace and freedom to end conflicts and wars. The crimes that are committed against religions are
verbal abuse, intimidation, threats, harassment, assault and bullying, as well as damage to
property. Blasphemy (evil-speaking) is the act of insulting or showing contempt for a
religious deity. Apostasy (revolt or renunciation) implies or abandoning of a prescribed
religious duty, especially disloyalty, sedition and defection.

Religion is human’s way to God, whereas philosophy of religion is a reflection of human’s lived
experience of God and usually affirms the existence of a deity. In the previous centuries, religion
has divided people more than ever before, causing disputes and misunderstandings in the debate
over truth and dominance. These disparities in beliefs, like culture, can lead to disputes between
people who have opposing views on what is right and wrong.
Activity 4.1.
1. Belief System is an ideology or set of principles that helps us to interpret our everyday reality.
This could be in the form of religion, political affiliation, philosophy, or spirituality, among
many other things. These beliefs are shaped and influenced by a number of different factors.
2. Religion the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal
God or gods.
3. Spirituality in a way that relates to or affects the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or
physical things.
4. Philosophy of Religion studies religion in general, without focusing on a specific religion
5. Theism is deemed to be the umbrella worldview of every religion. This is because most
religion, in one way or another believes in the existence of a god or deity.
Theism came from the Greek word “theos” which means ‘god.’ It is the belief in the existence of
a diving being. This divine being is considered the creator of the cosmos. The will of this Being
is the law which man ought to follow. Man’s destiny or purpose in life is to be in union with the
Divine Being.
6. Monotheism is closely related to Theism, often used as its synonym. Monotheism came from
the Greek word ‘monos’ which means single. This worldview believes in the existence of a
single God who is the creator of the universe. Examples of Monotheistic religions are Judaism,
Christianity, and Islam.
7. Polytheism is derived from the French word, ‘polytheisme’, which originated from the Greek
words ‘polu’ (many) and ‘theos’ (god). Polytheism, as opposed to Monotheism, is the belief in
the existence of more than one deity. You may have heard of Greek mythology, the likes of
Zeus, Poseidon, and Athena, this is a good example of polytheistic view. In the early times
people attributes the presence of these gods in nature. At present, a good example of polytheistic
religion is Hinduism.
8. Atheism is directly opposed to theism. It is the denial or lack of belief to the existence of a god
or deity. Most atheists claim that god is merely the creation of human mind. The idea of god was
created to answer questions which human reason cannot understand and to console man on the
uncertainty of death. For example, since humans will never know what comes after death, the
idea of a loving and merciful god was invented. This is to quell the fear of the unknown. Some
known atheists though do not positively claim that a god does not exist. They just say that that
should not be man’s concern. Humans should rather concern themselves with what is certain.
9. Naturalism as the name implies, claims that the totality of reality is found in nature alone. It
negates the existence of anything that is spiritual and supernatural. Since the only means to know
nature is through scientific investigation, then science is the chief basis of what can be known.
‘’ Technology’s Impact on Politics’’

One of the impacts of technology on politics is making their work a lot easier. Through
technology, politicians are able to access funds, gain political pundits, and spend less of
campaigning. Political candidates can use different communication channels provided by the
internet to influence the growth of individuals.

Furthermore, political candidates use technology in many ways; through podcast they are able to
portray a journalistic stature. In addition to that, ensuring the information is considered credible.
And by broadcasting through technological marketing candidates get suitable donors to support
different parts of their campaign. Based on the article the likes of Twitter, Facebook, and
Youtube are powerful communications media platforms that can easily raise the ratings of
political candidates. On the other hand, political videos easily generate online rating gains, and
such political internet advertisement will reach the target audience if launched efficiently.

Political candidates can use the internet's various communication channels to affect people's
development. Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube, for example, are powerful communications
media platforms that can easily boost political candidates' ratings. They also use it to get suitable
donors to support different parts of their campaigns through online advertising and crowdfunding
