Theoretical background

The findings of the study show that prediominant profile of respondents consists of

following preffered learning styles:active,reflective,sensory and intuitive. It also

suggests that the academic performance of business students does not effect by any

specific learning style.

Limitations , future dimensions and recommendation on the basis of results have

been discussed at the end.

Statement of hypothesis

The following null hypothesis were formulated to guide the study:

HO1: There is no significant difference in the learning styles on the academic

performance of 12 EPAS students in Mactan National High School.

HO2: Students level of study does not significantly influence their learning style

preference.

Significance of the study

The researchers believe that the findings accumulated by this study will provide

significant benefits to the following individuals.


Teachers, parents and learners can suggest alternative plans to overcome this
problem.

Students- This study shows that initially lower-scoring students attending schools

with effective EPAS use experience greater than expected academic growth.

RESEARCH DESIGN

Qualitative approach:

If you want to generate new ideas for strategies on student learning styles, a

qualitative approach would make the most sense. You can use this type of research

to explore exactly type of learning style certain students positively respond to.

Case study type of qualitative research:

* Detailed study of a specific subject (e.g. a place, event, organization, etc).

* Data can be collected using a variety of sources and methods.

* Focuses on gaining a holistic understanding of the case.

Population:

12 students

Surveys
Data collection procedure:

To measure students' satisfaction with learning styles, a survey type questionnaire

with a 5-point rating scale will be used and given to 6 females and 6 male students.

Data analysis strategy:

Thematic analysis

* Focuses on the content of the data

* Involves coding and organizing the data to identify key themes

RESEARCH RESPONDENTS/SUBJECTS

The research respondents/subjects in this research are the Number of grade 12

EPAS students in Mactan National High School. The data of learning styles on the

Academic performances was taken from the 12 EPAS student evaluation. These

students provides the data in conducting research when it comes to learning styles

on the Academic performances of 12 EPAS students in the mentioned school.

SAMPLING DESIGN

Target sample:

12 EPAS students in Mactan National High School

Sampling frame:

12 EPAS students in Mactan National High School consisting of 6 females and 6

males

Sampling method:
Stratified sampling involves dividing the population into subpopulations that may

differ in important ways. It allows you draw more precise conclusions by ensuring

that every subgroup is properly represented in the sample.

To use this sampling method, you divide the population into subgroups (called

strata) based on the relevant characteristic (e.g. gender).

RESEARCH ENVIRONMENT

The study of this research was conducted in Mactan National Highschool Senior

High School. In which, the learning styles on the Academic performances of the 12

EPAS senior high Student in this school was conducted. The population of the 12

Epas students in this school is determined 17.
