Osca Group Assignment
The Definition of the (Security and Protection) is that Protection and Security requires that
computer resources such as Software’s, CPU, Memory etc. are protected. This implements to the
OS as well as the data that is in the system. This can be completed by guaranteeing
confidentiality, integrity and availability in the Operating System. The system have to be
protected against viruses, worms, unauthorized access and etc.
Viruses:
Lets now talk about what is a virus and what can it do to an OS. Viruses are generally small
fragments of code’s inserted in a system. They are so dangerous and there able to corrupt files,
crash systems, destroy data etc. They also can spread even further by replicating themselves as
required. And in order to face up a virus we are in need of.
Windows security features:
There is a lot of examples for Security features that can protect the user’s from Viruses,
Malware, Worm, Spyware etc. and I am going to talk about them.
1.Defender Device Guard (DDG). Triggers driver and application whitelisting, Benoit said. The
feature transforms from a mode where apps and websites are trusted unless blocked by an
antivirus remedy to a model where the OS trusts only apps authorized and approved by an
enterprise. It enacts two components: The first, kernel-mode code rectitude (KMCI) which
protects kernel mode processes and drivers from zero-day attacks and other vulnerabilities by
using the HVCI. The second, user-mode code rightness (UMCI) is application development
whitelisting that achieves PC lockdown for businesses using only trustable websites and apps.

2.Windows Defender Application Guard. Application Guard offers insurance against cutting-
edge, directed dangers dispatched against Microsoft Edge utilizing Microsoft's Hyper-V
virtualization technology. The functionality works with whitelisting: Users can assign confided
in destinations to peruse unreservedly. If a site isn't believed, Application Guard will open it in a
compartment, totally impeding admittance to memory, nearby capacity, other introduced
applications, corporate network endpoints, Or any other assets of benefit to the intruder[ CITATION

3. Windows Defender Smart Screen. According to Microsoft, the Windows Defender Smart
Screen will "block at first sight," If they try to visit sites previously identified as having phishing
or malware, and to stop them from uploading potentially malicious files, it helps protect
employees. It can also help to defend against false ads, spam pages, and drive-by assaults.
This is one in every of numerous layers of defensive in malware and an anti-phishing protection
method. [ CITATION Bil20 \l 1033 ].
4.Windows Defender Credential Guard. Defender Credential Guard uses encryption based on
virtualization to separate secrets, such that they can only be accessed through privileged device
software protecting them from credential theft attacks. Hardware security and better protection
from advanced persistent threats are supported by allowing this functionality.
The best security technique overall? 'Educate your customers,' said Benoit. They are the ones
that press and carry out the files on the things. It's the hardest thing to do, but that's the thing you
have to do at the very end.[ CITATION Del21 \l 1033 ]."
6.Windows Defender Exploit Guard. Defender Exploit security includes exploiting protection,
guidelines for the reduction of attack surfaces, network protection, and access to managed
folders. It also provides protection for legacy software, including arbitrary code guard, low-
integrity image blocking, untrusted font blocking, and address filtering for export.
This lets you configure, review and maintain Windows programs and exploit detection
software," it also introduces a new level of intrusion prevention capability.[ CITATION Sea21 \l
1033 ].
