2. Your overall impression of the system (please elaborate)

I found it really entertaining to create my own website and to follow-up the tasks given
during the first part of the test. Not only was it easy for me to find most of the things the
instructions told me to find, but it was easy as well to edit them and modify them. I liked that
this platform offered a lot more tools to edit than other platforms like Wix and Wordpress. I
certainly admired the amount of editable aspects of a Website Site123 has to offer, since
many of the good things it provides are hard to code or to include in other platforms, and
site123 does it nicely (like the carrousel image display in a gallery page). I liked it, but since
I know web development myself (I am myself finishing a couple courses on Html and
JavaScript), I prefer to code my website by myself. However, if I were to use a website
builder platform, I’d definitely go with site123, not only because of the options available to
me to personalize, but also because of the included domain prices and accessibility.
3. Features/tools that were missing for you when you built your site (use bulletins)
 Ability to edit the main code in order to further modify certain behaviors from
elements in the website (like buttons, pop-ups, videos).
I don’t need to add anything else since, for me, that’s the only thing it needs to be
perfect (and because I’m an avid coder).

Part D: Writing task

Since you will be chatting with customers online, you need to write clear and to the point
explanations. Reply to these questions as if you were chatting with a client online.
Please write your answers in English and any other language you’re proficient in.

1. “How to save the changes I made on my website?”

Whenever you’re working with individual pages, make sure to click Save on the bottom part
of the menu. Otherwise, all changes are saved automatically in the system and will only be
published when you click the Publish button.
2. “I’m done editing. How do I get my website online?”
In the main window on the Website Editor, click on Publish on the top right corner. You will
be asked whether you’re sure or not of the changes you made, click Yes.
3. “How can I get my website to show on Google?”
You must edit the SEO’s meta-information. To do so, go to the page you want to be shown
on Google, click on the settings icon and modify the meta-information requested. You can
add meta-tags and meta-titles that can include words that the Google Search Engine can
match to your website.
4. “How can I find my website address or the link to my page?”
On your Website Dashboard, on the left side of the screen, on the second box from the top
to the bottom, you’ll find your website address on the “Domain” section.
5. “Why should I upgrade my website from the free plan?”
You should upgrade in order to get additional bonus features that not only make your
editing tasks easier, but also more complete. By upgrading you get access to a handful of
editable options that free users don’t have access too, as well as a bigger storage and
bandwidth for your customers to reach you. Also, consider choosing the 12-month plan so
you can get a custom domain for free for 1 year, which is an excellent way of getting your
brand known and stablished.
6. “I want a 3-month premium plan - do I get a free domain name?”
Unfortunately, no. Free domain names are included only on 12-months premium plans.
7. “I have a domain name from another provider - can I connect it with my website?”
In order to connect your domain name from another provider, you need to select any of our
plans, from the Basic, to the Golden one. Free users cannot connect their custom domains,
unfortunately.
8. “I want to add pictures - where can I do this and how?”
Once you created your page and you have added it, you can go to the Visual Editor on your
right and look for the default content that is added to your page when you create it. Once
you find it, hover your cursor over the content and find the Edit option. Once you edit it,
you’ll be able to add images to the text displayed. Some layouts, like Galleries, make
image-uploading easier by offering you a direct option to Upload an image once you create
the page using that layout.
9. “I want to sell my digital book. How can I do this?”
I would recommend you to set-up a website that includes, not only your contact information
and some of your career background as a writer, but also an e-commerce page where you
can upload your book’s info, price, shipping details and any other additional information for
people who visit your website that could become potential buyers. You’d have to add some
options once you set your E-commerce page, though, as you will need to add the product’s
specifications like it’s size and weight (if the book will be shipped), and if a digital copy will
be sent along the purchase, you need to make sure that the file you send to the buyer is
protected in order to prevent illegal or external trading of the book.
10. “How can I see a preview of my website on mobile?”
On the main screen on your Website Editor page, on the top bar, in the center of the
window, there’s an icon that shows the display you’re currently seeing the website in. Click
on it and then choose mobile in order to get a preview of your website on a mobile display.
11. “How do I change the language on my website to French?”
Hi! In order to change the language of your website to French, you need to go to the top
bar on your Website Editor page, under the Settings menu, and you have to choose the
option Website Languages. Once you click on the option, you will be shown a list of
languages you can add or set your website to.
12. ““I want to hide a page on my website so that only I can see it, not my visitors. How
can I do that?”
On the Website Editor menu, on the top bar, choose the Pages option in order for the
Pages list to be shown. Next, click on the settings icon next to the page you want to modify
the access users have to it. Once you click on the settings icon, click on “Hide page for all
users”, once you click on the option, click on Save or Publish so your website is updated
and the page is hidden from users.
13. “What should I do to receive my contact form messages to my email address?”
Go to the page where your contact form is located at and choose the Settings option next
to its name on the page list shown on the left-side of the screen. Once the Settings window
opens, go to the option labeled “Email List”. Here, you can add the email where you want to
receive your contact forms into. Notice that you can add up to 5 different email address to
receive the contact forms.
14. ““I need to add an option to pay by debit/credit card. What package would I need to
upgrade?”
You can pay using a Debit/Credit card once you upgrade to any of our packages, from our
Basic Package option, up until our Golden Package option. You can also use the credit
card/debit card option to pay any of our plans, from the 3-month plan to the 12-month plan.
15. “I have one free site123 website. Can I make more than one website and if so, how?”
Yes! You can make more than one website even if you have a free plan. Keep in mind that
the second website will be limited to the Free Package features, as well as the first free site
you created.
In order to create a new website, go to your Main Dashboard, where your website options
are displayed. On the top bar of the screen, on the right side, right next to “Account”,
there’s an option labeled “New Website”. Click on the option and follow the instructions to
have another website made.

When you’re done, send your answers, website URL and password to [email protected].
