WELCOME!

Welcome to your Pearl Level Boot Camp Training! We are so excited to be training you as an Activation™
Method Coach. As you step into each learning activity you will be expanding your skills and resources. Over
the next four days we are going to learn ten coaching strategies. A strategy is a process you can use to help a
coaching client discover empowering aspects of themselves. During Boot Camp we’ll learn these strategies,
working together, and this will be the basis of the coaching package you can offer your clients.

Now let’s go over some of practical points. If it should happen that you can’t attend one or two sessions,
we understand. After the Boot Camp you’ll receive a recording of all the sessions. We will also send you a
recording from Zoom at the end of each day to make it easier to review anything you might have missed. It
is important that you feel supported as you learn. Always raise your hand during practice when you need it.
The team is here for you.

Before you start, please read through your terms of service agreement and your student commitment letter.
You will have received an email with a Docusign. Please sign the docusign and it will be automatically
returned to us via email.

In this notebook you will find Strategy Session Guides plus an Action Form for each session.

As you use your notebook, make sure to fill in the Action Form parts. At the end of Boot Camp, you will
mail us this notebook in order to graduate. If you couldn’t do a specific strategy during the four day,s then
practice with a friend or family member and fill in your action form based on your session.

Each day we will have a morning and an afternoon session in PST USA time. Every session has a teaching
segment, a demo segment, a practice, and a Q&A. We have found that this makes for the most complete and
embodied learning experience. During Boot Camp we grow together. This means we alway treat each other
with respect and keep confidential anything that is shared during your coaching sessions. Our community
is worldwide, and at the same time there is usually a deep sense of resonance. Get ready to be inspired,
expanded, and validated by your coaching community.

COACHING ETHICS COMMITMENT LETTER

1. I understand that all of the strategies I learn as a part of my Activation Method™ Life Coach Certification
were designed for one-on-one coaching work with my clients. They are not to be used for group coaching
or public presentations (with the exception of the special group coaching bonus included in my package).
I can learn and be certified as a group coach by signing up for the CI Group Coach Leader program.

2. I will practice a CI coaching strategy at least three times before working with it in a paid coaching session.
This is to ensure I have witnessed how different people experience the specific strategy.

3. I will always honor my clients’ choices, values, and traditions.

4. When my clients encounter matters of a medical, legal, psychological, or financial significance, I will advise
them to seek the advice of a professional in that field.

5. When using guided meditation strategies (such as the Journey to Learn about the Higher Self), I will not
spend longer than 10-12 minutes in the guided section. I will explain to my client that they are in complete
control. I will encourage doing this as they wish with eyes open or closed. I will let them know they can stop
at any time.

6. I will only use guided meditation strategies when I am in a centered, relaxed and resourced state as the
coach. My intentions will be to empower and help the client in realizing their own inner wisdom.

7. I will only suggest helpful, empowering and kindhearted resources to be explored during any guided
meditation and specifically when using Higher Self, Archetypes, Energy, and Coaching 360 Strategies.
I understand these strategies are not designed to explore any shadow archetype work. They are meant to
empower and add resources to the client.

8. I will always honor my clients’ needs and never use a strategy that gives them any discomfort, that pushes
them in any way, or that is coercive or manipulative.

9. I understand that my coaching client’s own inner advice is what will guide and help them to take empowering
actions. My advice is only offered as a possible suggestion, not as a directive or judgment.

10. I understand that all materials in my training are owned by Coaching Institute. They are meant for my
personal instruction as a coach, so that I may benefit my clients in coaching sessions. I will not reproduce,
disseminate, or otherwise make available any CI concepts, strategies, or educational materials in any public
forum, online or offline, including social media.

11. I will not become romantically or sexually involved with any of my professional coaching clients.

12. The CI student community is characterized by mutual friendship and support. We all do better when we
know this friendship is genuine and not motivated by financial gain. I will not charge my CI colleagues for
coaching, trainings, or marketing services. I will also not offer free services or consultations as a “front end”
to a paying relationship.

Activation Method Pillars

Elevation - When elevating the client, point out the good, make the client feel cared for, create rapport,
interrupt the negative self view, and give purpose and meaning to challenge the client’s state or perspective
when needed.

Resources - When we help clients become more flexible, creative, engaged, motivated, accepting, integrated,
we are helping them to engage their resources. All our coaching strategies are designed to assist in becoming
more resourceful.

Reframe - A reframe is a new way to look at an existing limitation or request. Almost every coaching session
involves the coach and client both reframing the client’s situation, beliefs, emotions and attitude. The
following concepts and strategies are great helpers to reframe a client’s challenge, relationship, mode of
being, fears, or negative view of self:

Six Human Needs

Life Stages

Key Decisions

Client Types (Air, Earth, Water, Fire)

Story

Metaphor - Listen to the client’s natural metaphorical language. You are watching out for picture words that
carry big meanings. The coach may elevate a metaphor, invite the client to recreate metaphors, or place
metaphors in stories. Sessions may also focus on creating a metaphorical solution.

Acceptance - In AM coaching we do our best to support the client’s evolution to presence and personal
power and mission. However, we also accept and trust where a client is. Not all clients in every session want
to find actions or resources. Knowing when to allow time and patience, with slow and gentle observation, is
very helpful to the client’s overall growth.

Actions & Commitments - AM coaching clients learn to take actions between sessions. These might be
called “homework” or “practices.” The client takes steps between sessions to further their understanding,
skills, and habits towards meeting their goals.

Energy - In all of the strategies AM coaching pays attention to the energy that is being used within the client.
We aim to increase the health and balance of energetic flow and increase the awareness of energy as it
relates to emotions, thoughts, actions and relationships. Energy is part of giving, receiving and establishing
healthy boundaries.

Phone: 1.877.258.0480
Coaching Institute  |  Activation™ Method Pearl Level Boot Camp Training

Coach Knowing - Sometimes the coach uses the strategies and skills / concepts of AM to understand and
plan for future growth and sessions with the client. Some examples of this: the goal is related to a life stage;
the client is trying to meet x need; this goal is an outward not an inward goal, etc. So, the coach keeps in mind
helping create inward goals too.

Client Knowing - The client finds that they have the answer to their challenge. This comes about from
presence, understanding, and actions, but this doesn’t always occur in the session. Oftentimes the client
realizes what they feel, or what they’d like to do, or makes a decision well after the session.

Strategies which support Client Knowing: pretend, metaphor, meditation, and research project.

Getting Closer - Help the client to move closer to difficulty. Through present and peaceful experiencing of a
challenge, the challenge begins to transform.

Holding Space - A client comes to coaching with their own real needs for transformation, their own strengths,
values, and key relationships. The coach understands this and holds the space of hope and possibility, deep
discovery, and realization. The client does the work to resource and take new actions.

Ericksonian Outline for Sessions

1. Likes. Find out what the client likes to do. This elevates the client into a state of possibility and
resourcefulness.

Many clients have never been encouraged and supported in clarifying what they really like in life – and so
this is a key way to support your client in creating goals that move them forward in their life.

Get very clear on details that they like about a specific activity. When you understand the details then
you can help client to feel more of that in other activities or parts of life. (Life Zones, Six Human Needs,
Mode of Being, Archetypes)

Learn what a client likes about a key person (Expanding the Unit). When a difficulty has been shared,
ask for the parts of the person or relationship the client likes.

Find out what parts of life a client likes, how they like to feel, what they like to do, what they used to like
to do. (Success Zones, Life Stages, Key Decisions)

Learn a client’s goals for their life and for the relationships in their life (Life Zones, Success Zones,
Expanding the Unit, Mode of Being.)

2. Understand the Resources a client has.

Resources are the client’s tools, skills, relationships, ways of being, empowered decisions, values and
beliefs (Strengths process, Success Zones, Expanding Unit, Relationship to Self, Becoming One’s
Own Best Friend, Metaphor, Coaching 360)

Exploring resources may be done in regular conversation, or it may be explored in a meditative or

hypnotic state, going deeper into unconscious/ creative mind resources. Using the body to open and
expand energetically with the expression of resources can help to bring resources into greater knowing
and expression.

3. Finding What’s Missing and Understanding the Obstacle

For the client to feel more, and do more of what they like. They learn what is missing from their attitude,
practical life, skills, values, relationships. When in the past did they engage more in their likes? Is it difficult
for the client to find what they like?

Often the client is clear on the obstacle they’re experiencing. The obstacle might be expressed as, “but
I can’t because…” Or, the obstacle may come out as a mood, emotion, regret, past decision, logical
or situational problem, an expression of the body (like feeling pain), feeling stuck, feeling cold, feeling
blocked.

It is important to treat the obstacle with great kindness, respect and a welcoming attitude. This
immediately shifts the client’s usual way of being with their obstacles or missing parts into one of greater
harmony.

4. Bring in the Resources

What would be different if you had these resources that were discovered in what is missing?
(Brainstorming, relaxed state, connection to deeper self, key people, key decisions, life stage, human
needs, find the spark)

5. What is new now?

Ask your client to explore how things are different or new after they’ve uncovered their goal, understood
their resources, understood what their obstacles are, applied their resources and have become more
integrated. How has their attitude or abilities shifted in relationship to their goal? What actions are now
possible?

6. Taking Action

Ask your client to take an action that supports their new resourcefulness and creates an immediate
supporting outcome for what is now new. This could be somatically through the body. This could be a
plan for actions after the session. This could be spoken or felt right now in the session.

Zone 4: Every coaching path benefits from empowering the client to take actions in their life. Use these
strategies at any point after the initial two sessions. Some clients will love to take action, and others
will be slow to do so. Be patient and do the strategy together in the session, especially when there is
resistance to homework or actions outside of coaching.

SESSION 1
Life Zones Strategy

Life Zones and Goal Setting

This session focuses on learning about the client’s Life Zones. Life Zones are areas of life. For example, a client
may have an area of life that is focused on their growth, an interest, or a hobby. Some typical areas are family,
work, home, exercise, health, friends, social, travel, spiritual. What is most important is that you are using the
client’s words to create these categories. Then, ask about what the client would like more of in each area. Is
there any goal they’d like to start working towards? Explain that a goal may be inner (understanding, expressing,
forgiving, expanding…) or a goal may be outer (running a marathon, spending less money, making money,
saying loving things…)

The purpose of this session is to understand the client’s life as much as possible. The client will be choosing
areas to focus on during sessions. This will help the coach and client target areas for adding into the client’s life
activities, relationships, actions and understanding.

You can ask the client to choose a number between 1 and 5 for each area of life, one representing the least
satisfaction and five representing the greatest satisfaction. You can then ask the client to circle four areas of
life which they would most like to improve through coaching. Let the client know that in coaching sometimes
one session or week will focus only on this one area and other times you may be covering several areas of life.

Together you will be understanding the skills, actions, and tools the client needs to make each area of focus a
four or five level of satisfaction. Some clients will want great balance in life, and some clients will want to put
everything into just a few areas of life. It is not our job to convince a client to change this preference. Most of the
time there is a natural evolution which occurs as a person finds they can create greater satisfaction in several
areas of life. They feel the drive to spread their success into more challenging areas of life.

Step 2: Discuss 3-5 life zones today. Find out what the client wants more of, less of, and more understanding
of in each life zone. You can ask questions that help the client explore who is important in each zone. What
actions do they take in that zone? How do they feel in that zone? (Depending on time you may only focus on
2 – 3 zones for practice.)

Starter Questions:

What would you like more of in this zone?

What would you like less of in this zone?

What are the important actions you take in this zone?

Who are the important people in this zone?

How do you often feel in this zone?

Add as many questions as you would like. Trust the client, the strategy, and your curiosity.

Step 3:
Ask your client to number 1-5 their level of satisfaction in each zone you are discussing. (You may skip this
step if it doesn’t feel right in the conversation.)

Ask client to prioritize one life zone. This will be the zone you first work on together to improve.

Questions:

What would you give this zone as a number between one to five. In this scale we rate 1 being it needs most
attention and 5 being it is awesome.

Which zone would you like to focus on first in our coaching together?

Step 4:
Let’s find out what your resources are in this zone. Resources are helpful skills, values, strengths, emotions,
people, past successes, and so on.

Ask questions to help create a list of resources.

Phone: 1.877.258.0480
Coaching Institute  |  Activation™ Method Pearl Level Boot Camp Training

Step 5:
Explore the various aspects, people and priorities in this zone. You may want to ask about emotions, physical
needs, important people, or effects of this life zone. Trust your curiosity as the coach.

What are some key goals (intentions) for this life zone?

What would be a commitment, actions or step you could start this week towards that goal?

It is important to let the ideas come from the client. You may throw out suggestions but make sure client is
in agreement as what they feel right about starting to take action on. It can help the client to be reminded of
their resources and to be asked to use some of these resources in this zone this week. Think small steps here
as the coach. Help your client prioritize the first step they will take. Then help them to imagine what that first
step will lead to.

SESSION 2
Speed Coaching with Questions Session

The purpose of this session is to warm you up as a coach. You will be learning to follow your curiosity and to ask
many questions. Having only four minutes per focus helps to create more resources in us as coaches.

You are learning a coaching skill here that you can use with all your clients. There may be key questions you
enjoyed and that will be possible session explorations with future clients. Also, use this session to learn from
your colleagues how they ask questions and give nonverbal support. You will also learn how to stay with a topic
and keep exploring it with your client. You learn a great deal as both coach and client with this fast moving
approach to coaching. Often, a sense of fear will drop away as there is only a few minutes to learn about this
part of the client’s life.

You can use your own words to ask these questions. Select 5 questions (coach’s choice) to explore for twenty
minutes total and four minutes per question. Set a timer and take only 4 minutes per question than move on.
Ask your client to make quick commitments to exploring an insight during your question time.

After client one is done take time to ask them how their experience was. Do they have any new realizations or
actions they’d like to take? Help them commit to a first step.

Questions to Explore:
Each question has several parts. You can ask each part of the question on its own or add your own
question on that topic.

1. Tell me about something you love doing. This could be anything. Take me step by step through your
experiencing of doing it.

2. Tell me how you relate to connection in your life. Do you enjoy being with one person, many people, small
groups, big groups. Get curious about the client’s preferences for relating to other people.

3. What are your best habits and your worst habits? Is there a new habit you would like to add to your life?
What is the first step?

4. What do you value the most about yourself? How do you use this value in different parts of your life or with
different people in your life? How else could you use this value?

5. What kind of learner are you? Visual, Kinesthetic (movement body), Auditory, Energy and Emotions or
anything else?

6. If you could easily change one thing about yourself what would that be and why? How would that serve
you? How would that serve others?

7. Think of a key person. What would that person most want to be accepted about themselves? How could
you make a small step towards empowering your acceptance of them?

8. Tell me about your ability to say no and how boundaries help or hurt your relationships to people, to work,
to hobbies, or to actions?

9. What is your inner dialogue with yourself like? Could it be kinder? More caring? How might it affect your life
if you had a very caring inner voice? Do you think anything would be different?

SESSION 3
The Higher Self Discovery Journey

When we help our clients to connect with their Higher Self, we empower them to come from the place of their
greatest truth and wisdom. Before practicing this strategy with your client, you will want to be connected
to your own Higher Self. This can take several Journey experiences to have happen. There’s also a script
provided for you to use as you learn to lead a client through this journey. With time and experience you may
begin to use your own wording during the journey.

When guiding a meditation journey, it’s important for the coach to connect with their own Higher Self, so
please prepare by practicing on yourself first. Then, before beginning your practice session, take the time
to reconnect with your Higher Self and keep the connection going throughout the session. Doing this will
benefit the client in all their coaching work with you.

In future sessions with you if your client feels stress or blocked, they can take a few minutes to reconnect
with their Higher Self or Higher Self Teacher. For this reason, it is very important to do this session early on
in your coaching work.

As you go through the process with them, they will speak to you about the aspects of their Higher Self. This
is even more powerful than simply following a meditation journey, because they have your support as they
connect and learn more about their Higher Self or Higher Self Teacher.

Do not stay in the guided meditation journey too long. The process should take 15 to 25 minutes at most. We
also don’t want the client to continue with it if it feels hard in any way. Just end the practice for them, saying
I will now count to five, and at the count of five, you will find yourself fully back in the room. If you do ever
need to end the journey early and count a client back. Let the client know they did a great job and it can take
several journeys to meet the Higher Self guide.

Coaching skills you will learn for this practice

You will be learning to guide the meditation in a rhythmic, relaxing voice, using lots of pauses to allow for
the client’s experience. You may find yourself playing with the rhythm, cadence, and speed of the words as
well as the pauses between words. It may take you three to ten times for this to feel natural to you. You’ll also
want to make frequent pauses for silence. Ellipses (...) in phrases like “When there are...” are a signal to pause
and allow the client time.

When you’re first learning, just follow the script. Do not change it much. We want to ensure that the client
feels secure in their discovery of supportive and empowering details about their Higher Self, their Guide, and
their place in nature.

IMPORTANT: Do not look for shadow material, past memories, or anything that’s not coming from a
benevolent and supportive aspect of the Higher Self. If a client is accessing anything scary or confusing, ask
them to speak to you during the journey. Then guide them to more aspects of comfort and peace in nature
or to use their imagination for support and healing.

Introducing the strategy

Begin by introducing the Higher Self Strategy to the client:

Today, I’d like to teach you a process for connecting with your Higher Self. We’ll start with a guided meditation,
and then we’ll discuss it. We can also talk during the guided meditation.

What I mean by “Higher Self” is that part of us that’s always available to us for guidance, support, comfort,
empowerment, and courage. It’s the part within each of us that only wants the best for us at all times.

I’d like to be able to talk with you during the session so that I can help you feel comfortable and acknowledge
the way you’re experiencing the process. That way, I’ll be with you the whole time, and you can explain to me
what you’re experiencing. How does that sound?

I also want you to know that if you ever want to stop, just let me know, and I’ll count to five to bring you out
of the meditation experience.

Part 1. First Steps For Relaxation

You may want your eyes open or closed for this guided meditation. If you’d like your eyes open, just
allow them to be softly focused on the space in front of you.

So let’s start by noticing the chair or surface under you, noticing all the places where your body meets
the surface beneath you.

And just watching your breath as it flows in... and as it flows out, allowing your breath to be as deep
and slow or as shallow as it wants... and trusting the natural flow of your in-breath and out-breath.
Just watching and allowing...

Take your time here... And with each breath, relax a bit more, allowing yourself to unwind and just be
with your Inner Presence...Each of your breaths is like a little journey you are taking… Letting yourself
be very relaxed and comfortable with yourself and with exactly what is showing up for you. There is no
right or wrong way here to experience this journey meditation.

Starting at the top of your head take time to notice each part of your body as you allow it to relax and

Coaching Institute  |  Activation™ Method Pearl Level Boot Camp Training

release. This can feel like a gentle flow, a color, a warm or cool experience. Take your time noticing
your head, your neck and throat, your back body, your front body, your heart space, your belly, your
hips, your legs, and feet and your hands.

You may get information through words as thoughts... You may experience images or sounds or
smells... and realize that you may experience information as an inner knowing, feeling, seeing, or
smelling, or as a memory or kinesthetic experience. All the ways you experience information are right.

(Now give the client some time in silence. During this time, focus on your own Higher Self as the leader of the
exercise, and feel your own presence and Higher-Self qualities, like your values, your kindness, and your own
metaphors for your Higher Self.)

Part 2. Experiencing your Inner Landscape and Opening Your Senses

And now, just allow your sense of hearing to be open... your sense of seeing to be open... your sense
of touch and taste and smell to all be open... your sense of feeling... your very important sense of
knowing... and your sense of imagination to be open.

And invite all these senses to give you information.

And as you breathe in... and breathe out... you open your senses... and allow yourself to get very close
to your experience on the inside....

This is your Inner Landscape. It may be a bit closer than you normally allow yourself to be to your
inner experience. So just know that you can relax with everything now... like an easy and gentle flow...
Just give yourself time and presence to be with yourself....

Let me know how you’re experiencing this space within.

Here the client shares their experience of their Inner World.

Part 3. Exploring a place in nature

And now, just allow yourself to remember a place in nature that’s very helpful, beautiful, and
supportive for you... It could be a place you’ve been to many times or only once. And just experience
this place now... noticing the air... noticing the sounds.. noticing the smells.. and just enjoying. Maybe
you perceive this place with your physical senses... or with your imagination. Or you may notice the
textures here, or the view. Just take it all in.

Whenever you’re ready, you can tell me about this place. You can give me a tour of the place through
your words....

Coaching Institute  |  Activation™ Method Pearl Level Boot Camp Training

(When the client is ready, they describe their place in nature. Ask them for more details. This might be the
air, the ground, how they move, what they see and so on. Throughout the meditation, the coach remains
calm and connected to their own Higher Self, asking questions to help the client discover more details about
their Place in Nature. If at any time the client experiences anything they dislike, have them focus on the kind,
helpful, and beautiful aspects of the natural setting of the place. Explain that by doing this, they’re inviting
their own inner resources from nature to be there with them.)

Part 4. Walking on the Bridge (or stairs or path)

The coach continues the meditation:

And in this landscape, you may notice a bridge or stairs or path that you want to follow. Let me know
when you come to this.

And as you look at this bridge, path or stairway, notice what it’s made of... Maybe the steps are formed
of wood or stone or rock.

Let me know what you experience.

When the client is ready, they share their experience of the path (or bridge or stairway).

Part 5. Appreciating the Journey to the Next Level

And as you appreciate every step that you take, know that you’re going to the next level of this
wonderful place in nature, feeling very balanced and relaxed and easy. Just take in all the new things
you notice as you walk along the path or the bridge or the stairs.

And when you get to that next very special place in nature, let me know.

Again, the client shares their experience, while the coach remains connected to their own Higher Self.

Part 6. Meeting the Higher Self

In this place, you can let yourself experience your Higher Self. Or you may meet a guide that’s your
Higher Self Teacher.

This guide might appear as a person, a mythical being, an angel, a color, an element, a plant, or even
an animal.

Let me know when you sense your Higher Self Guide here with you.

32 Copyright © 2020 - Peysha Publishing LLC. All rights reserved. [email protected]

Phone: 1.877.258.0480
Coaching Institute  |  Activation™ Method Pearl Level Boot Camp Training

This Higher Self Guide wants only the very best for you. So allow yourself to be open with all your
senses... and welcome any way the Higher Self Teacher wants to show you an aspect of your own inner
kindness... or wisdom, or caring.... Just notice how this aspect of your Higher Self is being shown to
you. You can ask your Higher Self guide, ‘Are you my guide to know more about my Higher Self?”

If there is not a yes than you can allow another guide or teacher to be there with you. This might be a
person, plant, animal, mythical being, angel, element or some other form.

And allow yourself to receive teachings about your Higher Self from this guide, knowing that this
Higher Self part of you is always with you and that it is you in the truest, most elevated way.

You might receive this information in the form of metaphors, memories, sounds, nature images,
smells, kinesthetic sensing, or some form of knowing.

And ask your Higher Self or your Higher Self Teacher to show you a way to easily call them into your
awareness. This could be a symbol or smell or movement that you do. It could be a word or an image.
And thank them when they give you this information.

Now tell me what your Higher Self Guide or your Higher Self is showing you. Here, the client shares
their experience.

NOTE: If the client tells you that their Higher Self or Higher Self Guide is showing them something unhelpful,
suggest that the client ask the Higher Self how this is helpful to them. Also, If the client is ever scared of
something, let them know they’re in control and that when you count to five, at five they will come out of the
meditation and be able to remember everything they experienced.

Part 7. Returning to that first healing space

Now allow yourself to get ready to go back to the first place in nature you visited... And thank your
Higher Self Teacher or your Higher Self for sharing what they shared with you, knowing they are always
with you... and that this place in nature is always with you.

And begin to walk back on the path, or bridge, or stairs. I will now count backwards, and when I get to
one, you’ll find yourself back at that first place in nature that’s so healing and so wonderful.

10 – You can feel the path or steps as you walk.

9 – You remember a special aspect of your Higher Self.
8 – You feel very light and easy and grateful.
7 – You breathe deeply and feel very grounded.
6 – You enjoy how you feel and that you have this connection within you at all times.

5 – You notice a sense of ease within yourself.

4 – You’re starting to feel more energized.
3 – You see that first place in nature appearing.
2 – You notice the quality of the air.
1 – You are back in that first place in nature again.

Notice everything that’s healing and wonderful here in nature.

Give the client time here. Once they’re ready, tell them Now go ahead and share it with me.

Part 8. Closing the Meditation

Know that you can always come back to this inner landscape of nature whenever you wish. And know
that it helps you connect with your Higher Self Guide and with your Higher Self... and with all your
inner resources and senses.

Now I’ll count from five to one, and when we reach one, you’ll find yourself in ordinary reality and able
to remember all of your journey.

Here, the coach uses a less rhythmic and soothing voice as they count the client back from the experience.

5 – Just take back all your senses.

4 – Take a nice, deep breath, in and out.
3 – You begin to feel very open and awake.
2 – You stretch a bit and connect to your body.
1 – You open your eyes, look around, and see the room.

Part 9. Reviewing the Experience

Now ask the client how they are, and give them time to share their experience with you.

Do not share your own experience guiding them. Just take notes on what they share so that you can help
them return to that place again.

Congratulate the client on their experience. They just did something extremely courageous by connecting
with their Higher Self.

Let your client know that how they experience a journey is unique and their own. Some people experience
a sense of hearing, seeing, feeling, kinesthetic or energy sensing. A person does not need to change how

Phone: 1.877.258.0480
Coaching Institute  |  Activation™ Method Pearl Level Boot Camp Training

they experience a journey. Often, a client needs encouragement to appreciate their own way of experiencing
closed eyed sessions. A big part of our growth comes in accepting our unique way of experiencing things and
sometimes learning to translate these experiences through other senses. This might mean a person feels
something in the body kinesthetically and translates that to a sense of knowing, seeing, feeling.

The experience also becomes easier as we practice it more and more with the intention of connecting to our
Higher Self qualities—our values, strengths, helpful emotions, and metaphors. And we learn to accept our
own way of experiencing the Inner Journey Meditation.

Finally, remind the client of the importance of remembering how their Higher Self showed them to call
it back into their awareness. You may want to suggest that your client writes some notes on how to call
their Higher Self into their ordinary experience. This might be through symbols, sounds, touch or in some
other way.

Part 10. Setting intentions and committing to practice

Now ask the client if they would like to take a few minutes each day to feel the connection with their special
place in nature, or with their Higher Self or Higher Self Teacher or both. Let them decide what they want to
set as their intention for this week.

NOTE: Some clients may need several guided journey meditations to connect with their Higher Self. However,
every time they do this, they should experience a deepening of their relaxation, lightness, openness, and
flow. Always trust the client if they wish to stop, and count them back using the final five-to-one countdown.

SESSION 4
Goal Session: Goal, Resistance, Resources, Integration

Pre-Session Lecture: What is a Goal?

Goals may involve inner goals, outer goals, steps that are needed, micro and
macro goals, the history or length of time your client has had a goal, life zones
involved in a goal, key people involved, and so on.

Warm up for the strategy: Elevation - Begin with elevation, by finding out what your client likes to do.

The client will enter into a state of possibility and resourcefulness by imagining what they like doing.
Anything works here. It could be gardening, bicycling, playing with kids or dogs, reading, working, cooking,
researching…

Many clients have never been encouraged and supported in clarifying what they really like in life – and so
this is a great way to support your client by creating this empowered state and understanding of what is
enjoyable for them.

Steps for Strategy:

(Take 3-5 minutes on each step. Resources may be more like 5-7 minutes.)

The Process is a little like a light hypnotic state. Ask your client if they’d like to close their eyes to go more
internal. IT is fine to do this with eyes open as well.

1. Elevation: Get very clear on details that they like about a specific activity they mentioned in the warm up.
When you understand the details then you can help the client to feel more of that in other activities or parts
of life that relate to their goal. Ask the client to close their eyes. If they are comfortable doing so, let them
walk you through the actions and how it feels. You can also switch places with them and close your eyes
and have them walk you through it in yourself. This can help with some clients who are more leaders and
resistant to relaxation. You model relaxing and imagining for them while they guide you.

Important- you are connecting with what they like to do. You should feel it inside of yourself. Together
you are entering a very true and elevated state.

Phone: 1.877.258.0480
Coaching Institute  |  Activation™ Method Pearl Level Boot Camp Training

2. Goal - Ask your client to choose a goal for their life right now.

Help your client become very clear about their goal and what area of life it is in. Find out who the
goal will help, what parts of life, and how it will feel emotionally to experience goals achievement. Ask
your client to imagine this goal internally what is like now. Do they receive a sense or imagination about
it? This can come out as a feeling, picture, sense in the body and so forth.

Questions:
Imagine your goal within yourself. Do you get a sense or imagination about it?
Tell me about what you see, feel, or experience as you think about the goal you have?

IF the client provides a dark or scary imagining, have them open their eyes. Ask them to create with
you a powerful positive goal they can move towards today, by learning what will help that goal.
Explain that together you will find resources to empower their goal.

3. Resources – Explore with your client the supportive tools in themselves and in their past that will
allow them to take positive actions towards their goal.

Resources are the client’s tools, skills, relationships, ways of being, empowered decisions, values, and
beliefs. The following exercises can help client find resources: Strengths Process, Success Zones,
Expanding the Unit, Relationship to Self, Becoming One’s Own Best Friend, Metaphor, Coaching 360.

Questions:
Let’s look at your resources, all the things within you that will help you empower this goal.

Ask about empowering: emotions, skills, strengths, relationships, values, and so forth. Have the client
take this resource in on a deep level. You can ask them to imagine this resource filling them up and giving
them positive power, kindness, and drive (use words that will work for your client.)

Exploring resources may be done in regular conversation or it may be explored in a meditative or hypnotic
state, going deeper into unconscious/ creative mind resources. You can also use the body to open and
expand energetically. The expression of resources can help to bring resources into greater knowing and
expression. The resources do not have to make sense consciously.

4. Obstacle/Resistance - What’s missing, or what’s blocking the resources and actions

In order to take action, what will it take to realize their goal? Learn what is missing from their attitude,
practical life, skills, values, or relationships. When, in the past, did they engage more in their likes? Is
finding likes difficult for the client?

Often, the obstacle to doing what they wish to do and acting on their goals is very clear to the client.
The obstacles might be expressed as, “but, I can’t because…” Or the obstacle may come out as a mood,
emotion, regret, past decision, logical or situational problem, an expression of the body like feeling pain,
feeling stuck, feeling cold, feeling blocked.

Coaching Institute  |  Activation™ Method Pearl Level Boot Camp Training

It is important to treat the obstacle with great kindness, respect and a welcoming attitude. This immediately
shifts the client’s usual way of being with their obstacles into one of greater harmony. The client may bring
out the resistance during the resourcing part of the session. Jump to this step and go back to finding more
resources. Congratulate the client for seeing the resistance clearly. Explain now that you know what is
stopping you. We can welcome that information and grow from noticing it. The client and coach are adding
kindness and respect for the obstacle. This brings a softening to the resistance. You can ask the client to
imagine holding that resistance like a fragile baby animal. Then imagine that animal becoming healthier
until it is strong enough to walk, fly or swim away into its own special life purpose. Or, ask them to imagine
that obstacle being so filled with a positive emotion that it dissolves into a beautiful while light or rainbow.

Questions and Suggestions:

Do you experience anything that is resisting your resources or your goal? Let’s give that a lot of positive
emotion, like a light filling it up so it can dissolve (or baby animal strategy).

If client has no resistance or obstacle, do not look for one.

5. Bring in the Resources

Help the client to bring back information about their resources. You might want to guide them here to
bring a gentle awareness to their values, strengths, positive emotions, helping relationships, past success
and so forth. Let them know that, just by thinking it, they bring in these resources. Have them imagine
their goal now filled with resources for taking actions.

Questions and Suggestions:

Let’s bring back all your resources.
Let yourself imagine…
Let yourself feel…
Allowing all that great….
Feeling supported by…

6. What is new now?

Ask your client to explore how things are different or new after they’ve understood their resources and
their obstacles. What happens when their resources have become more integrated? How has their
attitude or ability shifted in relationship to their goal? What actions are now possible towards their goal?

Questions and suggestions:

Let’s bring all your resources now into imagining your goal being actualized (speak to resources and
imagining them activated with the client).

How do you feel now about your goal?

What is new now for you?

7. Taking Action

Ask your client to take an action that supports their new resourcefulness and creates an immediate
supporting outcome for what is now new. This could be experienced somatically through the body. This
could be a plan for actions after the session. This could be spoken or felt right now in the session and also
planned out as a series of small steps. Be sure to get a commitment from your client of what they will do
first this week.

Questions:
What would you like to do now towards your goal?

This might be an inner practice. It might be a first step, a communication, or something you are going to
learn this week.

This session may be used as your main session outline in all of your coaching sessions. The strategies
you are learning can be added in as exercises during the resourcing step.

SESSION 5
Energy Activation Exercises

In different Boot Camps we will practice doing different energy activation exercises.

Embrace and Breath Hugging

The purpose of this exercise is to warm up one’s heart center. We give and receive our own positive intentions
and emotions to ourselves.

Filling Up the Heart

Here we use our imagination to add to our own energy heart increasing joy, appreciation, and caring for
ourselves. As we relax and witness the entire somatic field receiving and filling with appreciation.

Higher Self Journey

Guiding our clients to a tranquil place in nature where they can meet the truest part of themselves. Through
this journey the client connects with their own inner wisdom and resources.

Energy Balls

Through experiencing our energy, we can learn to use it for inner and outer healing, giving, and connection
with the universe.

Boundary Bubbles

Grounding and helpful for states of fear, a sense of being ungrounded, having too much sensitivity or over
empathy. This exercise works to help the client create protective boundaries for themselves.

Tree of Wisdom Integration

Our connection with a tree can give us great insights, equanimity, inner kindness and appreciation for time
and space. This is a wonderful exercise for Air Clients to ground and connect. The Tree is a beautiful metaphor
for growth, evolution, life and wisdom.

Energy Activation Exercises

1. Discuss with your coaching partner your experience during these exercises.
Listen to your partner from your heart, while staying grounded in your own energy system. Write down a
few notes on what they tell you. Practice elevating and exploring their experience with them. Take turns
going back and forth as you share. You are learning an important coaching skill of listening, grounding
yourself, and elevating the client.

2. You may use any of these exercises with your future clients. Imagine together who you know that would
benefit from these energy exercises. How might a person with anxiety, low self-esteem, anger issues, or a
lack of purpose find these exercises helpful? Together you are brainstorming as colleagues a future time
when these tools will be helpful to those you serve.

3. If you have time you may want to practice leading each other through one exercise you particularly resonated
with. It is ok if only one of you wishes to lead and the other practices receiving the exercise. You can take 2-5
minutes to lead one exercise.

(After Boot Camp you will receive a transcript of these exercises and the video so that you can go more in
depth with practicing the energy exercises.)

SESSION 6
Strategy: Coaching 360

In this session the client is learning to become curious about their emotions or states. This is often a great
strategy when a client has expressed concern over one thing several times. This could be their fatigue, low
energy, anger, anxiety, spaciness, or excitement, for instance. There is no limit to what you can explore using
the Coaching 360 Strategy. This strategy also works well for values. A client may want to use this strategy
with you several times in one or more sessions. Values are a great topic to use with this strategy as well as
emotions.

Steps for Coaching 360:

1. Brainstorm all the emotions the client experiences regularly.

2. Explore the emotions the client doesn’t enjoy but partakes in regularly and the emotions they do enjoy and
want more of.

3. Choose one emotion to focus on. This could also be a belief, word, metaphor, activity or phrase. This might
be a positive or negative emotion. Either way, the client will learn to appreciate what the feeling, value
or state has to show them. They will be coming to peace and integration with this emotion or word by
experiencing it like a friend.

4. Help your client to understand the current sources, triggers, actions, people, times of day, foods, and
patterns related to the emotion, value, or state. See if there is also an antidote emotion or resource they
may want to add in as they use the strategy.

Creative Part of the Session:

5. Now, I would like to do a fun and creative strategy with you. I will guide you through making
this into a person. We will walk all around this person to understand it and
allow it to be seen, heard, and most importantly to let it come to be like a friend.

You will help the client get as creative and fun as possible with your questions about the person that is
the emotion, state or value.

The goal is to walk all around this person and understand it exhaustively from many perspectives. It will
no longer hold the same power or meaning. This is a playful pretend strategy which strengthens flexibility,
empathy, understanding, and peacemaking. It enhances wisdom, self-compassion and new perspective.

Phone: 1.877.258.0480
Coaching Institute  |  Activation™ Method Pearl Level Boot Camp Training

Explain to your client you will be turning the into a person and learning
about it. This takes creativity. The person is not the client. The client is
giving this person unique characteristics, likes, dislikes and ways of being.
Then you are asking this to offer wisdom to your client and to find a way to
come to agreement together to help the core person.

Questions:

• If this emotion were a person would they be a man or woman?

• How old are they?
• How would they dress?
• What do they like doing on the weekend?
• Who are their friends?
• Do they have a favorite way to relax?
• A place they go on vacation?
• A time of day they prefer?

Coaches: Be as creative as you like in getting to know the person. Keep this
fun and light for your client. You can both get very silly in this session.

1. Ask your client to imagine having tea or going on a road trip with . Where do
they go? What does (person) learn? Is there an antidote emotion, state, or
value that your client wishes to add to the scene? For instance, this could be a third friend that makes things
go more smoothly.

2. Another option is to focus on the person and to help them grow and
evolve. Ask them what their wishes are for the core person (your client). Bring out the good and the kind
in .

You may want to ask your client to speak directly to and let them know
they can go and evolve. Or you can let them know they have been heard. You are, in a sense, negotiating
a peace process between (when negative) and your client. Sometimes
this involves going your separate ways, and sometimes this involves knowing the kind intentions
that has for the client.

3. After you are done with the creative part of the session, ask your client to reflect on how knowing that part
of them as this character can help them to feel differently about their emotion (or whatever they chose to
focus on).

4. How can they empower themselves now? Would they like to do a practice that furthers this knowing, healthy
separation, or allows that to share wisdom and intention with them (the core
part of themselves)? This can be as simple as daily remembering that anxiety really likes to go to the beach
and play in the waves. Or it might be sitting with sadness each day and journaling for a few minutes the

Coaching Institute  |  Activation™ Method Pearl Level Boot Camp Training

deep wishes and advice sadness wants your client to hear. These should take five minutes or less so the
client isn’t dwelling on a difficult emotion. Instead they are getting creative, listening to themselves and
offering wisdom.

5. A nice practice is that when person shows up the client takes time to say I see
and hear you . And I remember… I will take five minutes to breath with you
and bring resources to this emotion or part
of me.

SESSION 7
Metaphor Strategy

During Previous Sessions, some metaphors may be brought out which are limiting the client’s potential. This
session is about recreating a client’s new metaphor through transforming an old negative metaphor.

Outline:
1. Talk to your client about something they’d like to change in their life. Find out if there is a metaphor they
have for this. Often this could be a metaphor about being loved, succeeding, money, or not being enough
in some way. A client may say I am stuck… I am trapped by… Or I am spinning in this…

2. Understand what the negative metaphor is for them. (Ex. My finances are a black hole. When I think of my
ability to work it is like I am a frozen wall.) Now explore ways to change the metaphor that enables the client
to experience greater happiness. Work with adding good things to their existing metaphor.

3. Find a real-life symbol, action or material object which will remind them daily of their new metaphor.

4. Practice giving a suggestion to your client to use their new metaphor each day. Ask for a commitment in
minutes a day, where, and for how long they will practice using the new metaphor.

5. Discuss how this new metaphor will affect themselves and others in their life. This invokes inner positive
leverage.

6. Have client imagine a time in the future when life is different because of this new way of relating to (self-
esteem, finances, energy, or whatever they chose to focus on.)

Examples of Metaphorical language a client may use, and examples of statements which would lead to
finding the associated metaphor.

“At work I feel like my back is up against a wall.”

“When I think of selling my throat tightens and I feel shut down.”
“I want to date but I feel like a frumpy dog.”
“I love painting but can’t stand my inner critic.”
“I am like a brick wall.”
“When she opens up to me I turn into a scared little boy.”
“In my relationship with my Mom, I’m the Mom. It feels like I feel like I am One Hundred.”
“When I go to work it feels like I am climbing a mountain.”
“Being at the gym is like entering a swamp.”

When metaphors are used in coaching, the client and coach transform obstacles with metaphorical resources.
A person who feels they are frozen will warm up. They may spend some time speaking about the block of
being frozen, seeing it as a story. Then, with the coach’s help, they will add elements (resources) that bring
warmth and melt the ice. Together coach and client will explore what can happen, now that the metaphor

Phone: 1.877.258.0480
Coaching Institute  |  Activation™ Method Pearl Level Boot Camp Training

has transformed. Then, the client and coach will find a practice that the client can to do to remind them of
the new empowered metaphor and how it will help the client’s ability to activate their goal.

Metaphor Strategy Outline

1. Find the goal that the client wants to work with (this is a thought, idea, relationship or obstacle they want to
transform) It is important the client chooses what is in them not in another person:

Examples: My relationship to money.

My habit of snacking at night.
My resistance to dating.

How I feel around .

2. Let’s look at that goal as a metaphor. If your snacking at night were an animal or a place what would it be?

(Now you have the first metaphor that might not be very nice and that you can transform in next step.)

3. Ask questions or guide visualization to create a new helpful metaphor:

Let’s make that (animal, place, etc.) more friendly or cute.

What can we add to it?

Get creative here, guiding the client to add helpful empowering, playful, imaginative elements.

Examples: The place is a gas station (the metaphor represents a sense of not being enough).

The client adds a convenience store. Cute pictures all over the gas station. Biodiesel, which is made of
fast food grease and is good for environment. A car solar charging station. Really nice people working at
gas station and store. They feel like a family.

Coaching Institute  |  Activation™ Method Pearl Level Boot Camp Training

4. How does the new metaphor feel after client has added fun and positive details?

5. Have the client open their eyes if they were closed. Ask them to check what is different, now that they
became so creative. If their initial metaphor was about a fear or a block how do they relate to that now?

6. What would they like to do to keep empowering this new metaphor?

Some ideas: they might be able to think or imagine it for one minute a day, for one week. Or, they may get
an image or a toy they look at that reminds them of their empowered metaphor. How will this new way
of feeing about the obstacle they had be good for other people in their life?

7. Imagining future life with new metaphor helping the client to take actions or enjoy the goal:

SESSION 8
Life Story, Soul Story and Coaches Story
Exploring Your Different Identities Through Story

Life Story Exercise - 10 minutes total

Warning: do not use in groups, or with clients who have had considerable trauma or lack emotional
stability when looking backwards at their life.

This is an experiential exercise that is wonderful to use after two sessions, or any time when you feel that
you and your client need to quickly gather more information about the client’s history and focus them on
their authentic/spiritual self and also on a specific role or identity. Read through the notes before starting
the exercise.

Get Permission: Ask your client if they would like to do a fun exercise which covers a lot of information in a
very fast and effective way about their life, their deeper spiritual side and also their coaching identity. Make
sure the client wants to play. You can explain how long it will take. Let the client know they have control to
share only what they wish to.

1. “First, I’d like you to tell me all about your life, from the time you were born until the present moment. Tell
me all that in 3 minutes. I will time you. Do whatever you need to do to go quickly. There is no right or wrong,
so just go with whatever comes up.”

Then, say “go” and time them for 3 minutes. Congratulate them on their great work. You can take notes
while they talk, but also give them your encouraging energy.

2. “Excellent, now let’s do this again in 2 minutes, telling me whatever comes to mind about your life story
from birth to now. You can ask your client to stand or to go backwards from the present to when they were
born. Ready, set go.” Time them for 2 minutes.

3. “Fantastic, now let’s go back to telling me about your life story forwards (if you were going in reverse), from
birth to right now, but we will only take 1 minute to do that. Ready, go.” Time them for 1 minute.

(You can use variations on this exercise. This exercise can be intensified by asking your client to stand on
one foot or snap their fingers as they tell their life story.)

4. Congratulate your client and ask them what they learned.

Soul Story - 12 minutes

The next part of our exercise is to look at the deeper, most authentic experience of your life up to now.
This might be a deep lesson you learned, tough times you overcame, the emotions you have felt often, or
anything else that strikes you as a deep authentic soul story.

1. What are some meaningful soul type experiences or learning you’ve had in life?

2. Do you have any special role models or people you look up to who are very empowered authentic and
seem to help you on a soul level? Tell me about them.

3. What are your deepest strengths or virtues? These may come out more in certain roles or during certain life
stages. Share whatever is meaningful to you as a soul strength.

Take a moment to integrate what was shared and sit with it together in silence, feeling its empowering
strength.

Coach’s Story - 10-12 minutes

1. What is the reason you are drawn to being a coach?

2. Was there a moment, experience, or decision when your life changed towards wanting to help others?

3. What values, strengths, or interests do you bring into your coaching self?

4. Imagine yourself as a successful coach helping others (take a minute in silence for client to picture it) tell me
about what you see in the future.

Closing the Session with Integration:

We just went through your life story as facts and events. Then we looked at your deeper story or the authentic
part of you. And lastly, we explored your coach’s story.

What were your discoveries?

Is there a way that your life story supports your coach’s story?

[email protected] Copyright © 2020 - Peysha Publishing LLC. All rights reserved. 53

Phone: 1.877.258.0480
Coaching Institute  |  Activation™ Method Pearl Level Boot Camp Training

Is there a way that your soul story supports your coach’s story?

Is there an intention or first step I can help you plan for this week?

(Usually a client who has gone through these stories realizes that they have more resources to use towards
their new identity or role. You may use this same strategy with a new life stage, role, career, or identity that a
client is creating for themselves. That new role would replace the coach’s story part of the strategy.)

Life Perspective Visualization Strategy

When a client has a big past trauma this visualization may help them to gain perspective and feel more
empowered. It is better to use this than the life story.

Ask the client to imagine they are on a mountain top. Looking below to the left, they see their life path which
brought them to this place in life. Looking below to the right, they see future paths and roads which will take
them in different directions.

Ask the client to share with you each step of the way what stands out for them that came before and what
will come ahead.

You lead the client and should let them know that you may ask them to quickly zoom out in perspective or
get closer. They do not need to see things like a movie and can simply use words to create their visualization.

You may also want to do some resourcing before the visualization of a safe and comforting place in nature
they can always return to. This may be with them at the top of the mountain.

This strategy is for mature, stable clients who are not made anxious by visualization or thoughts about the
past or future.

SESSION 9
Four Emotional Balancing Strategies

Strategy 1: Six Steps to Emotional Maturity Strategy

Step 1: Feel it: sadness, fear, whatever emotion is happening.

When we join with the emotion it gets smaller, we take responsibility and care of it from our innate kindness.

Step 2: Is there a story that comes with this emotion?

Example: I always get angry when my husband comes home late from work. Now I allow myself to feel that
anger very closely. What is my story about this? For instance: “he doesn’t care about me, so he’s late.” Just
notice what is that story.

Step 3: Become resourceful and have 3 new thoughts:

1. He hit traffic, 2. He stopped for a coffee, 3. He works very hard and keeps going. Any three new thoughts
work.

Being creative and expansive can be difficult. Add being kind to yourself, and this is why this step is very
important. You are easily creating the first ingredient for creativity and kindness. We call this “getting
resourceful” by thinking 3 new thoughts on the subject of pain. These three new thoughts activate the part
of you that can be creative and empowered to take responsibility for your emotions.

Now, you are moving away from the frustrated or negative emotion and you are going towards feeling
resourceful. This allows you to choose a new emotion you want to feel.

Example: I want to feel compassion, I want to feel kindness towards myself, I want to feel sad instead of angry.

Step 4: Bring up a memory or thought that invokes and gets you into the atmosphere of that feeling you
want to have (whatever the client has chosen). If you want to feel creative is there a time or experience or
object that helps you get into the sense, the atmosphere of creativity?

Step 5: Kindness, love and compassion:

Once you are in the atmosphere of the emotion you have chosen, you can do even more if you like. If you or
the client could not think of an emotion they wanted, they can skip to this step. All you need to do is choose
one of these 3 emotions: kindness, love or compassion. We are bringing in our own healing ability.

Let’s say you chose kindness. Now bring up a memory or image of kindness, a time when you or another was
kind. Think of an image that reminds you of the atmosphere of kindness.

56 Copyright © 2020 - Peysha Publishing LLC. All rights reserved. [email protected]

Phone: 1.877.258.0480
Coaching Institute  |  Activation™ Method Pearl Level Boot Camp Training

Step 6: Now that you are resourceful and in the atmosphere of one of these top emotions, think of an
action you can take. Make this an action for yourself or for someone else. Now you are choosing an action
from an empowered emotional state that you created.

Sometimes feelings of shame or guilt for past emotions will surface. You can actively forgive yourself for
the past emotions and reactions you’ve had. Sometimes taking mature emotional responsibility for your
emotions can create a desire for taking on more and more responsibility. This is why forgiving oneself for the
past is key. Create your own unique forgiveness statement that applies to you. One I like is: I did all I could
with the information and range of emotions and knowledge I had at the time.

Strategy 2: Emotional Strategy Getting Close

Use this strategy with an emotionally healthy client who is holding their emotion outside of themselves. Do
not use this with a depressed, immature, unstable, or suicidal client.

Ask the client to feel the difficult emotion. Be there with it while you are there with them as a coach, supporting
them. Ask the client to see what is underneath the emotion. Elevate the client as they practice. Stay with it
for only 1-2 minutes. This is not pretending the emotion. This is feeling the emotion so fully that the client is
giving their love to themselves and to the emotion. Therefore it has a healing and lightening effect. The client
should be able to notice what else is there under the emotion. Often this is another emotion.

Getting Closer

The goal is for the client to be able to really feel what they present to them in the moment. This might be
a memory, a thought, a feeling as a metaphor or experience in the body like a wave. While inviting the
emotion to be close client also is able to experience the emotion, thought or memory becoming transparent
or being gone.

You may ask what else they feel to discover the layers of emotions which are there. The question may be
asked as is there another emotion under this one or is there a cousin emotion. Or would you like to add your
love or other positive emotion now as you get closer? The client is learning to be very present and loving with
their emotions.

Strategy 3: Emotional Strategies Getting Universal

Oftentimes, a person is struggling with the feeling of being special or different due to a perceived lack,
struggle, or challenge. Getting Universal allows the client to experience connection outside of themselves.
This counteracts the usual process of feeling connection with self, due to relating through a problem or
difficult emotion.

You can include the Research Project Strategy as a helper to the Getting Universal Strategy. As the client
does research to find out who else deals with similar challenges or emotions, they increase their awareness,
brainstorm solutions, become more compassionate, and stop the isolation, which triggers deeper pain.

Four Emotional Balancing Strategies

Practice Session Outline:

1. What emotion or state does your client wish to work with?

2. Which emotional strategy do you choose to use? Go to that description and work with it. You may use more
than one.

3. If you choose a second strategy to help the client with, what is that?

4. Take time to explore together what was helped through the emotional strategy used. What would come
next? How will a practice or homework help empower the client’s growth?

5. How was your experience as the coach?

6. Ask your client for feedback on the session?

SESSION 10
The Four P’s

Use this strategy to help a client shift their state in relation to a specific person, situation, trigger, or action in
their life.

The Four P’s

1. Purpose

2. Posture

3. Presence

4. Optional 4th P is to Picture it

Example: “When I have to meet my ex-husband every week to drop off the kids, I always get triggered
and feel terrible afterwards.”

Using the Four P’s you get to practice a new way to feel and experience a difficult emotional transaction
and state of being. This helps the client overcome their usual emotional triggers. This can also help them to
become stronger, more open, loving, confident and so on.

Invite your client to use the Four P’s to transform a difficult experience and gain Emotional Maturity Strategy
and control. (Choose a “focus experience” which is common in their weekly life.)

Explain that they can use this with any area of their life but each time they’re create the Four P’s process to
be specific to the event, trigger, person, or action that causes them emotional stress.

Four P’s Process

Recall the situational anxiety and how it affects the body.

Step 1:
Create a purpose for the interaction.

“I talk to my ex-husband to give him important information about the kids and I model to the kids that their
parent love them and can work well together as co-parents.”

Step 2: Create a posture and anchor it in the body.

“With my purpose in mind I relax my shoulders, I breathe into my stomach, and I smile and look him in the
eyes.”

Step 3:
 Be in the present moment.

Most of our emotional problems are a result of being in the past or the future. This creates sadness (past)
and anxiety (future). As people we have a tendency to expect another or ourselves to repeat an old pattern,
or we fear the future will be the same as the past. This keeps us from making emotional shifts, taking risks,
and expecting a new state in ourselves.

Guide your client to tap themselves or touch a part of their face, head, body that reminds them, “I am here
in the present moment. In the present moment nothing is the same as the past and I don’t think about the
future. Change happens when I’m present.

Step 4: Create a picture or symbol that reminds of the first three steps. Have your client practice imagining
their symbol or picture, and then going through the three steps again.

Practice Makes Perfect

• P
ractice the Four P’s with your client at least 3 times. Go back to each step again and again helping
your client really feel their purpose, posture that supports purpose, presence, and to form a picture
or symbol which helps them.

Discuss the experience with them. You can also give them a Homework or Practice to use the 4 P’s on
their own each day. This way when they need to use the Four P’s in a stressful situation they are very
good at them and they are now able to react in a new way with a new focus and energy during their
“difficult or stressful” situation.

• Homework, Practice, Commitment, or Directive: This is an action or suggestion like a homework

assignment you give your client to do outside of your coaching sessions. Directives make change
happen in the client’s real life and relationships. It is best to use the language which your client relates
well to. Also, clients can give themselves a directive or homework each session.

Taking Boot Camp and Activation Method Coaching Home with Me

Our learning continues after we leave Boot Camp. By staying connected to each other we can also continue to
grow our relationships with colleagues and friends. There can be surprise emotions that surface in the week
following an intensive growth experience. This can take a variety of forms, such as increased friendliness,
charisma, sadness, a sense of wanting others to understand how we’ve evolved, a need to share about our
experience. Everyone processes the return to regular life and relating to others uniquely. This worksheet is
here to help you to integrate your training into your life back home and to remind you of the positive benefits
of staying connected with your new coaching community.

1. Take a few minutes to write down your three most important commitments to yourself:

(Commitments may include first steps to sharing your coaching, how to include family or friends in your
discoveries, giving to yourself, or practices you will begin now. Make your commitments one to two
sentences long)

a.

b.

c.

Say these out loud and then ask your group for their support. The group offers support through sending of
love, smiling and body language, saying, ‘we support you,” or “yes, go for it, you will do it,” or whatever is a
supportive communication that naturally arises. You can then take a moment to soak in your community’s
support, love and appreciation of you.

2. Staying connected is key to continued growth and avoiding a low after your experience of being with so
many like-minded and caring new friends. Take a moment to write down how you will stay connected.

(Facebook Group, setting a time to talk to a new friend from the training in the following week, sending
emails or texts, taking time to journal about your coaching sessions and to highlight for yourself your most
powerful memories and moments of connection.)

a) I will stay connected by:

3. Helping others in the future through our amazing spirits and kindness.

a) Take a minute to remember amazing moments during your coaching sessions and social time over boot
camp. Fill your heart with these memories.

b) Take a minute to imagine the people at home who will benefit from your growth and your new
understanding about yourself and others. Hold them in a loving attitude in your heart.

c) Take a minute now to imagine all the future people you will benefit through coaching, being a good
friend, mentor, or even a brief and kind conversation. Fill yourself up energetically through imagining
this future. Know that you can do this anytime to help you increase drive to get out and meet new
people.
