School Case Study

The Deyang School for Deaf & Intellectually Disabled Children in China was designed to provide teaching, sports, and accommodation facilities for hearing and mentally impaired students. The architects oriented rooms around atriums and courtyards to create multi-level interactions between private and public spaces. This respects the students' mental needs and activity routines while providing varied opportunities to explore their surroundings and enhance social interactions through different views and heights.
