Design For Lifting Pad Eye

This document provides design calculations for a lifting pad eye with a capacity of 2 tons. It includes input parameters for the pad eye dimensions and material properties. Calculations are shown for section properties, required loads, allowable strengths for various failure modes like tension, bearing, shear, and flexure. The combined stress ratio, bearing ratio, and pullout shear ratio are calculated and confirmed to be less than 1, indicating the pad eye design is adequate.
