This document defines and describes biphasic suspensions. [1] Biphasic suspensions are pharmaceutical suspensions in which solid particles of an insoluble drug are dispersed in a liquid medium. [2] The solid particles make up the dispersed phase, while the liquid medium is the continuous phase. [3] Suspensions are useful for administering insoluble, unpleasant tasting substances in a form that is more pleasant to take.
