Hello from LuxaDesigns!

We believe you'll find editing on Templett to be easy and an enjoyable experience. Here, you'll find
detailed instructions, tips, and tricks to help you edit along the way.

BASIC EDITING:
DOUBLE CLICK - double click on a textbox to enable editing and open the text toolbar. (Double
clicking on a non-text element will just open the toolbar)

SINGLE CLICK - single clicking on any element (including text) will enable you to move them around
the template and open the toolbar

RESIZE & ROTATE - to resize any element, just click on it and drag the corner squares. To rotate any
element, click and hold the rotation handle (the single blue square hanging out) and drag it in any
direction to rotate.

ADD TEXT: to add a new text box, click on TEXT on the left menu and choose between inserting a
new heading or text box.

ADD A BACKGROUND - you can add a selected image as a background to your templates by clicking
on the BACKGROUNDS tab on the left menu. Alternatively, you can choose a solid color as your
background. To enable more color options click on SHOW ADVANCE to open the color map.

UPLOAD AN IMAGE - Want to add your own photo or wedding logo? Just click on the IMAGE button
on the LEFT TOOLBAR menu and click or drag your image onto the UPLOAD button.

TIPS: If you need to crop an image, there are many free online photo editing websites that will allow
you to crop an image to your liking. We recommend pixlr.com.

TIP: Remember, always save your work as you go to avoid redoing any changes!

EDITING TIPS & TRICKS:

1. MULTIPLE TEXT STYLES: changes to text applies to the whole text box. To achieve a more unique
look with your texts, create separate text boxes, each with a different font style and align them to
how ever you like it. Example: the header is bolded while the paragraph underneath is not bolded.

2. FONT SIZES: Play with the font size to make certain things stand out and more distinguished.

3. FONT GLYPHS: some of our calligraphy fonts contain stylish extended strokes. To make headers
and names stand out even more, you can change the first and last letter.

CURRENT FONTS that offer this feature are: crystine regular, ethereal regular, and lovable.

(PLEASE NOTE: if you are viewing the pdf version of our instructions, a more UPDATED list of our
special fonts can be found in the "seller’s instructions" on Templett.)

4. COPY AND PASTE: for faster editing, remember to use the copy and paste controls (ctrl + c and ctrl
+ v or right click). Example: create 2 lists of names and copy and paste them for a total of 4 name
lists. Align them in a row and then tweak the text or add in your guest names. Doing this is quicker
than creating a new text box for each guest table.

5. SHIFT KEY: along with the copy and paste tip, you can hold down the shift key while clicking on
different text/elements to select more than one element. This is helpful when you want to duplicate
multiple things or move multiple things at once.

DOWNLOAD OPTIONS:
(Please note: all options recommended by us are based on our own experiences. We try our best to
make it as easy and convenient for our customers as possible, but we cannot speak for all print
shops. To ensure printing is stress-free, please speak with your print shop to make sure you are
going with the right download options and selections for their printers).

You have 3 download options:

PDF (for printing at HOME or at a PRINT SHOP)

To download a PDF of your template, click on DOWNLOAD then PDF. If you are printing at home, it is
best to have the options "TRIM MARKS" and "SAVE PAPER" selected for an easier trimming process
and to save paper and costs. "BLEED" is completely optional for home printing. If you are printing at
a print shop, majority of the time, a full "BLEED" is preferred and the trim marks and save paper
option are not needed.
JPEG (for printing at a PRINT SHOP)

To download a JPEG file of your template, click on DOWNLOAD and then JPEG. Select "BLEED" if the
file is going to be sent to a professional print shop.

PNG (for WEB use)

To download a PNG file of your template, click on DOWNLOAD and then PNG. This option is great if
you are looking to share your template on the web.

PLEASE NOTE: all PDF and JPEG files are 300 dpi and are standard for professional printing
PRINTING:
(PLEASE NOTE: you must download your template(s) before printing. Your templates cannot be
printed directly from Templett.com.

Printing options include:

HOME PRINTER (best for templates that are 8.5x11inches or smaller):

■ We recommend doing test prints using standard copy paper as test sheets before the actual
printing on cardstock. Conducting print tests ensures proper printer settings are selected and that
the overall designs are within the trim marks. Doing this is sometimes essential if your templates
require 2-sided printing, trimming, and/or folding.

■ When printing, please make sure the documents are set to "100%" or "Actual Size" in the
settings. (sometimes "scale to fit" is automatically selected)

■ 2-SIDED PRINTING: for templates that require 2-sided printing, first print the front page only. Do
not select the back page or have it printed right after the front/1st page. Instead, place the printed
front page back into the paper tray, and then print the back side. This may require some trial and
error to get the correct orientations, so we recommend running test prints. PLEASE
NOTE: sometimes 2-sided templates do not print perfectly. This is because most printers do not
print perfectly. The paper can shift slightly in the printer when it is fed through. To prevent this, it is
sometimes best to keep the entire design (excludes background image) 1/4" from the edge of the
template. Doing so will make any misalignment less noticeable (background images are okay to go
off the template). For best results and ease of printing for 2-sided printing, we do recommend
getting it printed professionally.

■ CHOOSING PAPER: it is best to use card stock. Card stock comes in different weights ranging from
50 -140 lb or 10pt-50pt. The higher the weight or pt, the thicker the paper will be. The best way to
determine which weight to go with is to see which weight your printer at home accepts. Majority of
home printers can print from 90-110 lb and 10-16 pt. If you decide to use different types of paper
such as vellum or iridescent paper, make sure your printer is able to work with them.

LOCAL PRINT SHOP:

You can take your PDF or JPEG files to a local print shop to get them printed. If you are located in the
US, print shops such as Staples, FedEx, OfficeMax are great options. They are very affordable and
are usually convenient because of their hours. Often, you can also send your files or upload them to
their online sites, then select your paper, and make your payment. After 1-5 business days, you can
simply pick them up.
ONLINE PRINT SHOPS:

Online print shops such as FedEx, Shutterfly, Snapfish, Digitalroom.com, 4over4.com, and etc. can
take the files of your templates and have them printed. All you would have to do is create an
account, enter their designing corner, upload your template image, select your preferences, and
make your payment. The online company will then print your order and have them mailed to your
address.

TRIMMING INSTRUCTIONS:
When DIYing your printed files, trim marks are a great help during the trimming process. To
add TRIM MARKS to your files, click on DOWNLOAD, PDF, then the TRIM MARKS option. To have
multiple templates on the same page click on the SAVE PAPER option.

There are 3 options for trimming:

OPTION 1: X-ACTO KNIFE + RULER + CUTTING MAT

STEPS:

1. Place pages on the cutting mat

2. Line the ruler along trim lines

3. Run the X-acto knife along the edge of the ruler. To keep the trim marks for future cuts, make sure
to not cut all the way to the edge of the paper but only to the where the "card" ends

4. Repeat for all sides

OPTION 2: PAPER CUTTER

Paper cutters can be found online on Amazon, eBay, or in local craft stores like Michaels and
Staples.

STEPS:

1. Line the paper cutter blade on the trim marks

2. Run/Slide the blade down along the rail onto the trim marks. To keep the trim marks for future
cuts, make sure to not cut all the way to the edge of the paper but only to the where the "card" ends

3. Repeat for all sides until finished

OPTION 3: SCISSORS + RULER + PENCIL

STEPS:

1. Take a ruler and line in along the trim marks. With a pencil, draw a light line across the marks. Do
this for all sides

2. Take your scissors and cut along the pencil lines. Erase any marks if needed after.

FOLDING INSTRUCTIONS:
If any of your printed files require folding, then it is best to do so before the trimming process. This
ensures a cleaner fold making the cards look more professional.

STEPS:

1. Line a ruler along the indicated fold marks

2. Taking a bone folder and run it against the ruler to create an impression of the fold onto the
paper.

(Bone folders are dull edged hand tools used to fold and crease materials such as paper. If you do
not have a bone fold, then you can also use a credit card, non-serrated edge of a plastic knife, or any
material that has a smooth but strong edge to make an impression on the paper)

3. After making an impression on the paper, trim the cards

4. Fold and run your bone folder along the fold to a strong crease.
