INSTRUCTIONS

A. Title of Assignment
Manufacturing Process

B. Scope
The assignment covers the following discipline / chapter of manufacturing process technology:
1) Chapter 1: Introduction to Manufacturing

C. Objective
The main objective of this assignment is to demonstrate the manufacturing processes by means
of processing or assembly operations.

D. Course Learning Outcome (CLO)


The assignment is complied with CLO2: Construct parts or products through practical works of
suitable manufacturing process based on its applications (LOD5, PLO5, P4).

E. Task of Assignment
1) The assignment should be undertaken on an individual basis.
2) Select ONE (1) classification of manufacturing process as highlighted below in yellow.
Please refer Learning Material Ch1_Part 2 (slide no. 4) for further illustration.

3) Show the manufacturing processes by means of processing or assembly operations.


4) Compile findings in a video animation of not more than FIVE (5) minutes.
F. Making a Video Animation
Use your creativity to produce an animated video using any format / method / software that you
can think of, but do not forget to focus on the objective to demonstrate the manufacturing
processes by means of processing or assembly operations. The narration in the video should be in
English, and consist of, but not limited to the following contents:
1) Introduction
This section explain the background information of manufacturing process that you have
selected. This section shall also include the information of student (i.e. name, matric no, etc.).
2) Materials
This section provides the materials that complied with the manufacturing processing or assembly
operations that you have chosen.
3) Method
This section organizes the method or processing steps using relevant graphical information.
4) Conclusion
This section concludes the findings, which also include discussion and recommendation.
5) Quality
The animated video should be produced in an organized manner.

G. Submission of Assignment
You should submit the assignment (video animation) and submission form (refer Appendices) in
softcopy latest by Week 7.
