PRE-LESSON 1. Pupils guess the title of today’s topic by playing a game of hangman.
2. Pupils read silently a short text about saving pocket money.
3. Pupils read aloud as a class and clarify any difficult vocabs with teacher.
4. Pupils work in pairs to answer 4 True/False questions about the text.
LESSON 5. Pupils discuss answers as a class.
DEVELOPMENT 6. Pupils move on to another text which is also about pocket money.
7. Pupils read the second text silently first and then aloud as a class and clarify any difficult vocabs with teacher.
8. Pupils remain with their partners to answer 5 comprehension questions.
9. Pupils discuss answers as a class.
10. Pupils are asked to reflect whether there is any parallel between the 2 stories and their own lives (Do they
save their pocket money).
POST-LESSON
11. Pupils are reminded again to be prudent when it comes to saving money to ease their parents’ financial
