Coaching in Action at Leeds Met

A seminar sharing the academic research of practicing business coaches will

be held at Leeds Metropolitan University’s Rose Bowl on Wednesday 18 May.

The seminar, entitled ‘Coaching in Action’, is being hosted by the University’s

Human Resource Development (HRD) and Leadership Research Unit and will
address coaching as a way of motivating and developing staff in an
organisation.

Coaching has become a significant HRD activity, with research by the

Chartered Institute of Professional Development (CIPD) indicating that it is
used in 82% of organisations.

The seminar will consider how practicing coaches, and their accounts of their
work completed as part of the MA Executive and Business Coaching course
at Leeds Metropolitan, can contribute to the development of HRD. Subjects
discussed will include coaching and development around significant events,
coaching for creativity in leadership and executive coaching.

The MA Executive and Business Coaching degree at Leeds Metropolitan is

delivered in collaboration with PB Coaching.
