NAME: Emmanuel ‘Kayode CLASS: JS2
TOPIC: The computer system II DURATION OF LESSON: 80mins AVERAGE AGE: 12yrs +

A. BEHAVIORAL OBJECTIVES (Cognitive, Affective and Psychomotor)

At the end of the lesson students should be able to:
i. Describe the term hardware, software, people ware
ii. Explain the relationship between hardware, software and people ware.
iii. Take a class Exercise on this topic functions

B. INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS:
The computer systems in the ICT lab, the Internet, students’ textbooks and printed notes

C. PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE:
The students have learnt about the definition of the computer and computer system from the
previous lesson. They can also identify the computer parts and state their uses/functions.

D. INTRODUCTION:
Ask questions on previous topic and call on students to answer:
i. Mention the computers parts that you know and their respective uses/functions.

E. PRESENTATION (Step by step exposition of the material):

i. The teacher reminds the students about the definition of computer system as learnt from the
previous lesson.
ii. He mentions to the students the three components of the computer; hardware, software, and
people-ware/user-ware.
iii. Using the resources in the computer lab, he discusses the computer components in details,
emphasizing the purpose/role/function of each
iv. Using a chart/images/pictures from the Internet, he explains the relationship between the
three components of the computer.

F. CONTEXTUALIZATION (of the materials of the classroom situation)

The students would be able to identify the hardware, software, and people-ware components of
the computer system in the ICT lab. This makes them understand how and why the computer
parts work together as a system.
G. STUDENTS’ ENGAGEMENT IN THE LESSON:
The students engage the use of the computer parts in the lab to better understand the functions
of each component of the computer. Through this, they will understand that are also part of the
computer system.

H. REVIEW (By teachers and students of familiar material):

notes.

I. EVALUATION QUESTIONS (in three learning domains—cognitive,
