Thinking differently

What is right/wrong is constantly evolving? E.g since childhood we

have been told that we need to do a job, work hard, etc, yet we see so
many entrepreneurs

Challenge the status quo, do not accept it, if you feel something is
wrong, do something about it

Pixeltests Inc. *Private and Confidential Jayanth Rasamsetti

Thinking differently
Think from first principles, think long term
(only way to beat competition). Nobody has
patience for success (Marshmallow Test)

What is something that you believe to be true

that nobody else agrees with you on?

Thinking differently: Seek the Objective Truth
The truth will be against people’s opinions if they do not know the truth. Always
seek the truth and be ok with challenging other’s opinions

Do not get influenced by opinions, scientific thinking, take action

Subjective vs Objective Truth

e.g. Pi, Chemist, Musk (SpaceX), skipping breakfast is not good for health

Constantly experiment, iterate

Become a 2.0 Version of yourself

Who you are right now is not capable of achieving success

When you hold your identity very hard, it becomes difficult to change
yourself
Do not have any attachment to your current identity, if you get attached, it
becomes status, you are always evolving, always growing
When you change, other people around you will become uncomfortable
Because they will start losing the person that was you, they will try to put
you “back into yourself”

Become a 2.0 Version of yourself
This is the fact of life. Growth pains, deal with the devil

Your old ‘self’ which is just your identify will try to pull you back because the
lizard brain wants stability and is afraid of change + growth
Lizard brain = thinks short tem, Rest = thinks long term

Understanding ‘Fear’. Where does it come from?

E.g. Bike accidents/Smoking and Public speaking (Harsh reality about
technology)

Become a 2.0 Version of yourself
Your current 1.0 you is biggest enemy for your 2.0

Go do something which you have never done before to train your lizard brain.
E.g. webinar, Tim ferris faint in a shopping mall (something crazy). The ego
you are trying to protect so hard, nobody really cares
Try new things!

Become a 2.0 Version of yourself
When you take action to change, everything will change, including your friends circle

Refrain from saying anything like:

“I am not good at .. math/coding/writing….../sales”
e.g. permanent disability, Spanish/Chinese/Hindi medium, etc

Do NOT look for opportunities that reinforces your current identity, it is crowded at the
bottom. It is lonely at the top
e.g. government job, military, etc
Don’t sell yourself short

Pixeltests Inc. *Private and Confidential Jayanth Rasamsetti

Become a 2.0 Version of yourself
Change the things under your control.
e.g. age, it is not impediment to success
McDonald’s, Stephen Hawking, etc

Write down what your ideal self is and everyday work towards reaching that goal

A thousand voices will come into your head, once of the common things is
‘Money doesn’t bring happiness” or “Money is the root cause of all problems”
Money doesn’t solve all problems, but is solves the money problems of life (a huge source of
headaches)

Pixeltests Inc. *Private and Confidential Jayanth Rasamsetti

Become a 2.0 Version of yourself
Do NOT chase money, instead chase how you can create value for the world!

People around will say “He has become a different person after he has become rich”
But the reality is: You became a different person before you became rich
You became rich because you changed yourself. E.g butterfly/caterpillar, bonsai tree
People just noticed it late
People want predictable behavior from other people, if anyone around them grows too fast, it
makes then guilty of not growing themselves

Mastermind groups: You are the average of the 5 people around you

Celebrate Success of others
If someone is successful, celebrate it, do not become jealous
Envy is a dream killer, if you have negative emotions of someone’s success, you will never achieve
success yourself
Take it as an inspiration that someone has achieved a state of success & believe that is possible for
you as well
We should celebrate success. We don’t pull each other down, we push each other up, we pull
each other up e.g. Silicon Valley pay it forward!

E.g. if you pull someone down, you will believe that when you grow, somebody will pull you
down. Display ads/search ads, long/short blogs

Pixeltests Inc. *Private and Confidential Jayanth Rasamsetti

Celebrate Success of Others
E.g. Asking salary? Business revenue? Why the diffidence? Money is a byproduct of value

If a business is making a lot of profits, why is it always a negative connotation, positive

association, profit is good, for R&D, training, etc

Pixeltests Inc. *Private and Confidential Jayanth Rasamsetti

Dream Big
You will never achieve anything more than your dreams
If you dream of a job pays you $80,000/year, you might never be able to make $200,000/year
By dreaming big - you are putting yourself in a vulnerable position, you are afraid that if you do
not achieve your dream, then you will be disappointed, you are afraid that if you dream big then
you have to work hard to achieve it
If you dream for achieving something in your life, you will start seeing patterns that will help
you get there
If you are not looking for something, you will not see it even if it is right there in front of you

You will see the colors that you want to see

Have high standards for yourself
Do not let yourself that you are not enough to succeed, maybe the 1.0 is not enough but the you
2.0 that you are becoming will succeed

Do NOT use low quality products. If you use low quality products, then you will think that
other people also use low quality products, and you will sell low quality products. e.g. jobs, blogs

Low quality customers are a pain, attract high quality premium standards, have a good executive
judgement on quality, lots of sincere, honest people out there.

Pixeltests Inc. *Private and Confidential Jayanth Rasamsetti

Have high standards for yourself
Do not cut corners, if you cut corners, then you will think that other people will also cut corners &
you will attract them into your life. e.g. pirated, paid for a course, something for free, etc (There is a
some meta force)

Pay your team, vendors, well, or maids, etc. Pay on time. If you do, then others will pay you well, the
world will become a reflection of your behavior

Do NOT be cheap on your way to success, the world is an abundant place! (If you are you will end up
attracting cheap people, if you are not you will end up attracting rich people). Karma, what goes
around, comes around
Treat others the way you would want to be treated

Keeping yourself in a positive state of mind
You need to be in a good state of mind to quality work
If you are frustrated or depressed, work like this can’t be done
It takes discipline to keep yourself in a +ve state and not get swayed by the things happening
around you
You can’t control what is happening around you, but you can control how you react to it
If you are in a specific state of mind, you will attract more things that make you feel the same
E..g if you drop your phone, followed by a car accident
If you are in a specific state of mind, you will attract more things that make you feel the same.
Meditate

Art of Productivity
1. Get into a +ve state of mind & avoid all distractions. Put your phone on flight mode
while doing tasks

do this! No notifications at all! No social media!
3. If you are reacting, you won’t be productivity. Be proactive
4. Whenever something comes into your mind, do not keep it in your mind, add it to a
todollist, and then process the tasks when you get a chunk of time to do small tasks
(creative vs repository)
5. Super Laser focus. Read: Getting things done by David Allen,
Deep Work by Cal Newport

4. Reduce or eliminate consumption of non-veg (watch “Game Changers” on Netflix)
5. Do not use sugar, it is addictive & the energy doesn’t last long

Pixeltests Inc. *Private and Confidential Jayanth Rasamsetti

Assemble the Machine & then take off!
1. If you are good at one area of your life, all the areas will improve
2. If you are bad at one area of your life, all the areas will worsen
3. This is not a game, take life seriously
4. Take charge of your character, you are the video game player & your identity is the
character in the video game of life, play it well & stop blaming others
5. Small improvements every day will compound over a period of time, there is nothing
called ‘overnight success’
6. If you take action, there will be a reaction, take massive action, the more action you take,
the more you will move forward, stop thinking and start acting!
