REFLECTION

Among the weaknesses of the Filipino character which applies to you? What have you done to
counteract such to become the moral person you are called to be?

As a Filipino, I possess attributes that are appealing to the majority. Where these
characteristics serve as an example for others to be good and spread the habit of doing good.
But I can't deny that I have flaws and actions that aren't acceptable in the minds of a lot and
that I need to alter for my own sake.
As a human being, I make mistakes. I'm frequently noticing actions that are completely
incorrect in their eyes, one of which is a lack of discipline. Discipline is a comprehensive area
that may refer to a variety of things, and I believe my actions in this society have gone so far
as to define what discipline must be. At such a young age, I am not cautious about my activities,
I am careless, and I am a happy-go-lucky type of person. I lack of discipline in the way I
communicate to others, I can frequently express snide comments to others, as well as humor
that are not funny and damage the sentiments of the person with whom I am communicating.
It is also frequently about spending money. I purchase stuff that are not yet needed or essential
to buy, but because they are trendy and I appear to desire to have them, I am driven to buy them
right away and waste so much money. When I was in senior high school, I couldn't help but get
carried away with my friends' activities, and there were traffic regulations that I generally didn't
observe, and I almost got messed up in the middle of the road.
But as I've gotten older, I've noticed a lot of changes in myself. These mistakes of mine
compelled me to make a change. I can't handle the thought of hurting others, especially myself,
as a result of this carelessness. I accept all of my faults, and this is the only way to ensure that
I never make the same mistakes again. When you learn to accept your shortcomings, you
become less vulnerable to other people's judgments, statements, or attitudes about you. No
one can humiliate you or use them against you. You accept that you are human, that you are
learning, and that you still have a long way to go. From the typical version of me that is very
rowdy, careless and messed up, maturity is very important factor of self-development. Maturity
enhances one's ability to make sound decisions. And with prudent decisions comes more
steadiness in your life as a whole. As you settle down, your life becomes more steady and, as
a result, easier to manage. It all boils down to discipline when it comes to learning to effectively
lead yourself and others. Focus and self-control lead to happiness, achievement, and
contentment. Conquering self-struggles are very crucial, it took me a lot of time to continue
developing myself but I am trusting the process. Because at the end of the day, just like what
Plato had stated, the first and best victory is to conquer self.
