Project Proposal - Automatic Trash Bin

The document describes an automatic trash bin project created by group Doppio. The bin uses an Arduino, motion sensor, and servo motor to open when motion is detected. It also has a laser transmitter and receiver to detect when the bin is almost full. The project aims to prevent people from touching trash cans during the COVID-19 pandemic by automating the opening and providing a sensor to know when the trash needs emptying.

Description:

The project's automatic trash bin is made up of a plastic trash bin that is powered by an
Arduino Uno board with a motion sensor and a servo motor to automatically open the trash bin when
motion is sensed. Inside the trash bin is a laser transmitter receiver module that detects if the trash bin is
almost full and if it is necessary to dispose of the inside garbage.

Significance:
The significance of this project is to take safety precautions seriously in light of the present
situation, which is a pandemic that began in 2019 and is still ongoing (2021). This project aims to safeguard
people from touching and opening garbage cans, which is extremely dangerous right now due to the
spread of the COVID-19 virus and other variations across the world. This project is also meant to be utilized
in public spaces as well as in your own house, which is a benefit. People will be warned and aware that the
garbage within the bin has to be disposed of thanks to the sensor positioned inside.
