Note: Bank of the West is upgrading our Electronic Deposit Service (EDS) on December 4, 2021. EDS is the
service you use to remotely scan and deposit checks to your accounts. There are four parts to this upgrade;
Scanner Installation; Strong Password Requirement; Additional Browser Support; Consolidated Login Page.
These upgrade items are described in detail below.
Scanner Installation
Instructions for Scanner Driver
To install scanner drivers, follow the steps listed below.
Note: The process of installing a scanner must be performed using a Windows Administrator Account. Please
contact your internal company administrator for assistance.

3. Click “Save As” / “Save Target As”.
6. Launch the setup.exe file, and follow the instructions to complete installation.
Note: The installation Wizard and procedures vary by scanner, so follow every step carefully. It is especially
important to note when to physically connect the scanner to power, or to the PC.
Note: If re-directed to a different domain than Web Deposit uses, the Log out link and/or Logo link in the
upper left-hand corner may open in a new browser window. If this happens, also add those domain(s) to the
Trusted Sites zone by following the same steps listed here.
In addition to configuring the website for Web Deposit as a Trusted Site, there is a sub-setting that must be
verified to ensure seamless operation of the application. As seen in the following screen shot, set Access
data sources across domains to Enable under the Miscellaneous heading found in the Custom Level settings
for Trusted Sites on the Security tab of Internet Options for Internet Explorer.

Adding External Web Server to Trusted Site List
To add an External Web Server to the Trusted Site List for Internet Explorer, perform the following steps:
7. Enter the address of the domain in the Add this website to the zone field (e.g.
https://www.<provider name>.com).

Strong Password Requirement
A strong password is required. A strong password contains at least three (3) of the following character types:
Numbers (0-9)
To avoid a service interruption, please ensure that your password meets these requirements prior to December
4, 2021. After the upgrade, users without strong password will be DISABLED and will need to be re-created by
your company administrator.
