PARTICIPATE AND ASSIST

Given the concepts and the infographic, how can you participate and assist in a
face-to-face learning environment?
 As becoming teacher in this curriculum, I can see the changes of the two infographics,
from the traditional and close arrangement of table and chair to limited and distance set
of arrangement. I could participate and assist in this upcoming face-to-face learning by
providing greater opportunity in a way that learners could connect their learnings to
real-world task and access more relevant information from the safe interactions
between their classmates and from the teacher. Also, I could be able to assist them
through the different learning methods and presenting new instructional material such
as using technology in a proper way. They can actively participate as it brings
engagement and arousal to reflect and develop their skills.

NOTICE

Having been exposed to the traditional classrooms in your basic education, it seems that
everything is familiar. However, as teaching-learning theories evolve over time there are changes
that are taking place.
What changes have you noticed in the face-to-face classroom spaces?

ANALYZE

What do you think brought the changes in the face-to-face learning environment now?
ANALYZE
 Today, the situation can vividly feel as the changes from the usual life in the
environment. Hence, in just one slap everything was changed including the classroom
scenarios. From the traditional set-up of learning to modular and virtual/online platform
of instruction, it changed. Furthermore, the learning environment now was brought by
the arousal of technology in education. There are distinguished online platform such as
google meet as a video conferencing for teaching-learning and google classroom in
which modules and activities were posted. We can't just deny the needs for education
even in the midst of pandemic hence, we try to find way for the success of it.

From the changes that you identified, choose one that you can do. How will you do it?
 From the changes identifies, I chose the use of face mask inside the classroom and
inside and outside the campus. I believe, wearing facemask is the main thing that I
could do in the scenario today from our environment. It is mandatory and we should
follow it to prevent ourselves from the spreading disease and to provide safeties in my
learning

REFLECT

Do you think making the learning environment conductive for a face-to-face classroom will
enable the learners to achieve better learning outcomes? Explain your answer.
 As a student, I could feel the difficulties in this online class and the only thing that
makes student achieve better learning outcome is the presence of having face-to-face
classroom. There are more opportunities for the learners to develop skills and acquire
knowledge in a physical instruction as it provides more reliable sources and relevant
information inside the classroom. Also, they could relate more their acquired learnings
to the real-world task as if they were engaged by the teacher and classmates to do so.
They can also focus in a safe, appropriate and conducive learning environment which

is the face-to-face classroom. Furthermore, both learners and teachers can reflect and
realize more in physical classroom.

PROMPTS

OBSERVE

What common problem have I noticed in a face-to-face learning environment?

 Passive engagement in class

Can I translate this problem into a question?

 How to avoid passive engagement of the students in instruction?

REFLECT

How would I solve the problem?

 From the problem above, I will create a positive classroom environment for us to have
good communication and achieve the desired learning outcomes. I will know the
learning style of my students for me to be able to think of appropriate learning methods.

Will it improve my teaching? How?

 Yes. Making the class actively engaged in the instruction will improve my teaching
because I could also learn as well. It will enhance my ability to be more productive in
choosing appropriate learning method and techniques.

PLAN

What will I do to solve the problem? Describe briefly how you will do it.
 The first thing to make the students engage actively in instruction is to motivate them
through the use of different IM's and think of learning activities such as presenting ice
breakers. In that way, they can participate in class because of the arousal activities.
Always set the instruction in positive manner for them not to be afraid that will make
good communication. I could also get the attention of the class by praising them in a
way they would feel better and motivated even they got wrong answers.

WORK ON MY ARTIFACTS

Visit a school, where the learning environment is face-to-face. Prepare a detailed

report describing the face-to-face learning environment in terms of the three components:

Physical Environment
 Is the space inside the room more than enough for learners to move about?
 Does the room arrangement match with teaching-learning principles? Are there
several room arrangements in the school?
 Are the visual displays attractive and do they simulate learning?
 Are the school premises safe and is the classroom space free from hazards?
 Are learners comfortable in terms of light and ventilation?
COLLEGE OF TEACHER EDUCATION

Psychological Environment
 Are there sets of rules and procedures followed? What are these?
 Are there sets of expectations that can motivate the learners to learn?
 Are these observable in the classroom?
 Classroom atmosphere based on trust, cooperation and empathy
 Modeling of positive attitude, respectful behavior, constructive actions
 Avoidance of ridicule, sarcasm, superiority in the classroom
 Opportunities for learners to share their experiences and learning with
each other.

Social Environment
 Are there opportunities for positive interaction inside the classroom?
 Are there outdoor activities that foster friendship, camaraderie and cooperation?
 How are individual needs and differences considered?

PORTFOLIO ENTRY

Title: The Face-to-Face Learning Environment

Describe the physical environment:

The space inside the room are more than enough for the learners to move as it have
different arrangements such as reading area; the bulletin boards where the
information for each students, subjects and their works were posted and the portfolios
that are match with teaching-learning principles. Also, classrooms were arranged
orderly from Kinder to Grade Six level. For the visual displays, they are attractive
and can stimulate learning because of being colorful and appropriate to their levels.
The school was guarded by concrete fences that provides safeties for all but the
hazards could see as it was built in hilltop place. When it comes to lightning, learners
are comfortable and ventilations could feel freely because of the trees around the
school.

Describe the psychological environment:

Inside the classroom, there are rules and procedure followed such as respecting each
other, will raise hand and say excuse if want to say or feel something.
There are also expectations that can motivate the learners to learn. Classroom
atmosphere based on trust, cooperation and empathy are observable together with the

institution promoted school-friendly zone so the ridicule, sarcasm and superiority in

for learners to share their experiences and learning with each other.

Describe the social environment:

There are opportunities for positive interaction inside the classroom and the
outdoor activities such as playing games foster friendship, camaraderie and
