devices with metrological visa.
5.2. Area Supervisor
5.2.1. Ensure distribution of the present procedure at all subordinate operational entity and verifies its
implementation.
5.2.2. Ensures that the installation works are performed according to the installation documentation
and observing present procedure provisions.
5.2.3. Ensures the work performing with qualified and authorized personnel.
5.2.4. Is responsible to instruct all subordinated personnel with the provisions of present procedure.
5.2.5. He answers for the good evolution of the work from technical viewpoint, organizationally, of
security of the labor, of fire prevention and of the environment protection.
5.2.6. Confirms the quality of the work in the related quality records.
5.2.7. Notify CTC Department before starting the works and the activities marked with H or W in
specific ITP. Cooperates with CTC Department during whole duration of the works.
5.3 CTC responsible of the work
5.3.1. Controls the works according to specific ITP.
5.3.2. Confirms the quality of work by signing, dating and stamping the related quality records.

6. PROCEDURE
6.1 Preliminary conditions
6.1.1. Before starting the work, should be ensured and checked the preliminary conditions
mentioned by the procedure IC-ELC-006.
6.1.2. The physical integrity of all materials that will be installed should be checked. It is no
allowed the installation of any damaged element, with incomplete painting or with rusted points.

6.2 Marking the installation position

6.2.1. The tracing of cable tray position should being done by measuring of the distances
with the reference elements (wall, floor, ceiling, etc.). The tracing and measuring of elevations
should be done by transmission of the height from the topographic mark.
6.2.2. The support position tracing should be done on the project alignment, observing the
distance between two supports provided by the technical documentation or by trays manufacturer
catalogue.

6.3 Supports assembling

6.3.1. Joining of components established in the project supports catalogue, should do the
support assembling.
6.3.2. The tightening moments stipulated by cable tray manufacturer for the fasteners
should be observed.

6.4 Supports installation

6.4.1. The support installation can be done:
- by anchors;
- by welding;
- by screws.
6.4.2. The support installation be expandable anchors will be done with flat bases on the
floor, and with mounting frame on the wall or ceiling. The expandable anchors installation will be
done according to procedure PTE-ELC-045.
6.4.3. Supports installation by welding will be performed on the existent metallic structures,
according to procedure PS-ELC-058.
4|5
6.4.4. Supports installing by screws will be done on non-standard metallic structures
according to approved installation details.
6.4.5. Supports shall be installed according to design provisions, concerning their
emplacement, configuration and parts composition, the distance between two supports, etc.
6.4.6. Supports will be installed vertically on the base surface, and they will be collinear.

6.5 Trays installation

6.5.1. The trays will be assembled and mounted on the brackets only with the standard
components (such as: internal / external fixing straps, junction and continuity plates, stringers,
terminals, screens, etc.) specified by the manufacturer.
6.5.2. The following shall be respected when installing trays:
- trays parallelism towards each other and towards walls;
- trays horizontal and vertical level;
- trays centering on the supports.
6.5.3. Trays distances towards heat sources shall be the ones established by the
installation documentation. When these are not available, the trays will be located at minimum 150
mm toward the heat sources. Are not considered heat sources: heat insulated ducts and ducts
expansion elbows.
6.5.4. The minimum distances between superposed trays shall be those provided by the
installation documentation or by the applicable norms.
6.5.5. At trays installation it will pursue that:
- between two consecutive supports to be only one tray joining on the same level. If
there are necessary two joints then will be installed support stringers under trays;
- the continuity plates will be installed at the trays joining with two star plates, aside
and the other side of the continuity plate;
- for every 30 m of rectilinear cable tray, the junction plates will be replaced with
expansion plates and the continuity plates will be replaced with Copper flexible
cord;
- the trays fixing and joining screws will be mounted with the head inside of the tray;
- the tightening moments of the screws will be according to cable trays
manufacturer prescriptions;
- the cut or perforated in site cable trays will be deburred and the protective coating
shall be remade, according to procedure IM-ELC-046.
6.5.6. Changes of cable tray direction will be done, usually, by typical elements (horizontal
bends, vertical bends, tee, cross, reducing pieces, etc.).

6.6 Cable trays grounding

6.6.1. Cable trays grounding will be performed according to IM-ELC-086 provisions.

6.7 Cable trays marking

6.7.1. The cable tray marking will be done according to the installation documentation, on
lateral in places ensuring a good visibility. The compulsory marking points are:
- trays ends and deviations;
- when passing by walls / floors;
- when the cable tray change code.
6.7.2. The distance on straight line between two markings shall be less than 7.5 m.
6.7.3. The installation documentation will establish cable tray codes, as well as the
dimensions and color of the fonts.
