*Abstract*
The Library Management System is an
application forassisting a librarian in managing a
book library in auniversity. The system would
provide basic set of features to add members, add
books, and manage check in specifications for the
systems based on the client’s statement of need.
*Introduction*
The Python django project is Library Management System is
important software which is used in the libraries of schools and
colleges for adding new books in the library, issuing books to
students and maintaining the record of the book that is returned.

Library Management System in Django project is a website


developed using python and DJANGO framework. Library
Management System helps to store information related to books
and readers. The system helps to manage readers and the stores
the details of books issued by them, new user can also be
registered using the system. The System provide interactive
features to both librarian and readers.

The project is a two section:-


Admin section
Student section

*admin section is consists of a feature such as first name , last


name, Username, Password
*Student section is consists of a feature such as first name, last
name, Username, Password, Enrollment, Branch
*Motivation*
To store all the information in the database from where
user will place their query and get the results on the basis
of their query. Only valid users will be able to access this
Library Management System. Through this Library
Management System it will be easy to manage accounts
and various details of particular student and employees
working under library along with the records of book.
*Purpose/Objective and Goals*
The proposed Library Management System project
will help the students and librarian to maintain the details of the
library. It will assist the librarian before the shortage of books
while they can know the details of the number of currently
available in the library according to the author by accessing the
system. A student can view the details of the book issued by
them, and the system will notify the students about the last date
of submission of books. At the time of issue of a book, the
student will get assisted by the system about different authors of
a similar book so that they can get the best available book from
the library

a)To build a system that can receive input and generate


automatically output in easy way and short time.
b) To build a monitoring system that is able to monitor and
manage all library operations efficiently.
c) Give an opportunity to librarians to reduce mistakes that
always happen during manual method.
d) To store properly the library items in order to maintain their
security.
*Project Scope*
* The system is convenient and flexible to be used. It saves their
time, efforts, money and resources .

*System Analysis*
The developed system is a web application and does not
require any additional software requirements except hosting.
Any client with an internet connection and a web browsing
software can immediately start accessing using the system. So,
the system does not need any installation/setup procedure.
Hence, the system is functionally feasible.

*Existing System*

Early days Libraries are managed manually. It required lot of


time to record or to retrieve the details. The employees who have
to record the details must perform their job very carefully. Even
a small mistake would create a lot of problems. Security of
information is very less. Report generations of all the
information is very tough task.
Maintenance of Library catalogue and arrangement of the books
to the catalogue is very complex task. In addition to its
maintenance of member details, issue dates and return dates etc.
manually is a complex task

The existing system has limitations they are:-
