Course Name Probability Theory (MM20)
Course Credits 3 units
Course Description Probability theory deals with the dynamics of logical uncertainty and randomness. Logical uncertainty and randomness occur in just about every
field of application and in daily life, so it is extremely useful and interesting to understand the mathematical theories of probability. As a future
educator, taking calculated risks is vital in eliciting students’ problem solving and critical thinking skills. To achieve this goal, this course will
unravel concepts in set theory, probability concepts and random variables.

Course Outcomes Graduates of BEED and BSED of Talisay City College are teachers who:
1. Articulate and Discuss the latest developments in the specific field of practice.
2. Effectively communicate in English and Filipino, both orally and in writing.
3. Work effectively and collaboratively with substantial degree of independence in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
4. Act in recognition of professional, social, and ethical responsibility.
5. Preserve and promote “Filipino historical and cultural heritage”.

Grading system Talisay City College Unified Grading System

Classroom policies 1. Perfect Attendance equates to additional credit points. Should there be absences; students must present a handwritten excuse letter stating
the reasons for absence with justifications and signature of parents or any person authorizing their absence. Students must catch up with the
lesson during the missed sessions.
2. Students must follow the assigned routinary activities in the Management of Learning (MOL) set within each assigned group to conserve time
and maximize learning.
3. Submission of requirements must be on or before the scheduled agreed date. Incurring late submissions will receive infractions of 5% per day on
the final grade of the output required.
